We'll all have an online beer together when this is over.

Count me in for that online beer too, I can't wait! No word yet, no touches, no nothin'.

But I hereby proclaim that I will get it by the end of February. I'm sending it out into the universe... So here's a little happy dancing man for my approval which will be next week... kicking.gif

It is difficult to wait...interminable at times.
It is difficult to go and see your loved ones too, knowing you have to say good bye at some point.
It is difficult to even say good bye on the phone, or on the web cam.
It is difficult to imagine being without them at all for any length of time.
I feel all the pain with you as we wait, no matter what stage of the process or journey we are in.

What is not difficult to see, is how much every one of us loves and cares about our SO. This can make me smile smile.gif

In some ways this is where the wait gets the worst. Waiting with all your other fellow filers for the months that you wait together is hard, but at least you're all together. Then when you see those around you getting their approvals it kinda stings. Man do I know how that goes. But this is really where your mettle is tested. Hunker down and hang in there. This is the worst part of the wait but your approval WILL come soon! good.gif

As for your wedding date, you might want to check with your consulate and find out how far out interviews are being scheduled. The big variable will be how long it takes your approved petition to leave CSC. Sometimes it can take a few days, sometimes 3 weeks. So look to see how far out interviews are being scheduled, tack on 4-6 weeks, and that's about how long you can expect it to take from NOA2 to interview. I don't know how far out approvals are taking at your consulate, but May 17 is most likely not going to happen. sad.gif Doesn't hurt to find out though.

Hang in there, estadia, it'll come soon. I went over four months without even a single touch or not knowing what was going on at all. The members of this forum have all helped tremendously (as did buying a good shoot-em-up video game).

Good luck, and god speed, to all of us.

OK so tomorrow my man will call the 1-800 number for the USCIS and ask them whats going on and whether we are approved or not since last week several ppl found out that way that they were approved and just haven't gotten notice yet.......
We have now changed the date for our wedding from May 17th to June 21st since Mister went ahead and spend 1000$ on a freaking cell phone (and the required deposit).......them 1000$ were half of our Airfares so now ,even in case we are approved or get approved this week,we don't have the cash anymore to be flying out by the end of April.
Sucks big time since flight fee's change on May 1st and get about 50% more expensive.............
Men!!!! Why can they not just THINK before they go out and get their lil toys????
(Of course all men on VJ are the big exception of the rule! LOL)

Congrats to all the recent October approvees!! I know the rest of us will be soon! I declare this week official October filers approval week.

And Tars, Estadia and L&P, I'm sure those touches mean they are working on your files and will approve them any day now. Heck, they might even be already approved, lots of people have found that the online system never gets updated. Just keep you eye on your mailbox at home this week...

That is so frustrating for me, knowing the mail can take up to 8 days from So Cal to here. But it looks like it will be soon, and the NVC is speeding up.

Well, FINALLY they updated my online status. Touched again today, this time notifying me that they sent a request out to me for additional information.

Does anybody know how far this might put me back, timewise? If I overnight the info to them will it sit for another month or will they get right on it?

Any input will help.

Thanks,

Tars Tarkas

Hi there Tars;

I just experienced the same thing.. stupidity on my part though, I left one bit of paperwork out of the application. I had it but clearly didn't recognize that I forgot to add it until they informed me. So annoying! At any rate, I didn't even get a notice via online that there was something missing - had it through the post. I rang up USCIS after I sent the paperwork back that they needed to ask that very question ' has this set me back ?' and basically the answer was YES..
However, as I sent what they needed within two days I'm HOPING that it's not really set me back horribly long.. they give you 30 days to get the paperwork to them.. which if you have it to hand I'd suggest getting it to them ASAP.

Not sure that this reply will make you feel any better.. I know it didn't do anything but stress me out.. just make sure you get the info to them ASAP and hopefully it won't hold anything up. I have to wonder that had this one particular piece of paper not been missing from my file - would it have been approved?! I'm almost certain it would've been.. *sigh*

This is what my request for more information says regarding time scale:

From the date this office receives your resubmission, a minimum of 14 days will be required to process your form. If you have not heard from us within 60 days, you may contact the USCIS.

RFE's are usually processed pretty quickly. In most cases it will only set your case back a couple weeks, especially if it's just a technical issue like a missing form or a box not checked or signed.

Be sure to write "RFE" on the outside of the envelope in BIG RED LETTERS when you mail it back, and of course get return receipt requested.

The good news is that your case is on someone's desk, and they are working on it. Get your RFE taken care of asap and your approval should be just around the corner.

Congratulations to Melusine (and anyone with a recent approval I might have missed).

Tars, sorry to hear your touches were an RFE. From what I have seen, though, MOST people on here who have gotten RFEs have sent back the requested evidence and gotten their approval almost immediately thereafter, so the lost time is really the time needed for the mail to go both ways (which can still be two to three weeks). The 60 day window is mainly to cover their butts. It is POSSIBLE for it to cause a longer delay, though it's pretty unlikely.

I feel like I've been engaged for-freaking-ever. I am a dedicated non-girly-girl who wants to throw things every time I read how I have "dreamed of my wedding day since I was a little girl." I have not either! But now I am starting to. Ugh! Hurry up, USCIS!
