California has seven, count 'em, seven NOA2's sent out since 01-01-2008.
That's less than one a day ... so at that rate we are talking 75-ish days until the first CSC October filers get their NOA2's - and that's not including the July filers yet to get their NOA2 - of which there are legion!!! No wonder our approval date has slipped back to 24th March.
OK! Rant over.

And am I going nuts or has the information that was posted on the December 14th update of the USCIS website changed in the meantime? The completion date for a fiance visa now reads June 21st 2007 - but the last time I read it, it said 6 months!!! Madness!!!

Both of the centers are saying that. I hate that they put a specific number, it seems like they go faster if there isn't a specific date attached to their work and btw, how do they figure what date they are working on? Are they all picking from the top of the pile or do they get boxes. . . I've been wondering that for a while. . .

VSC is working well the last 2 days. Things are picking up quite well. I was hoping for maybe a touch next week, but I got it today. I was very surprised to say the least. We finally have our NOA2. I see that they are moving very fast now and soon maybe things will not be soo difficult on each of the couples, because the time between is difficult to endure. I am hoping for good service to from the embassy in Manila. So from Diocel and Bryan, may God Bless each of your journeys. We are not done yet of course. But this is a good start for any one of us.

Don't be sorry. Its as though others dont realize that regardless of when you file, this process is stressful and difficult for all of us. I filed in October, but trust me I had to wait through many difficult steps and back and forth before the day that I could finally put my petition in the mail. I am not going to be one bit upset when I finally get approved, because we are as deserving as any. Hopefully it will sooner rather than later.

It is amazing how different but the same all of our stories are (does that make sense?). I wish I could wave a magic wand and everyone would be able to be with their loved ones. . .but I know the process is way more complicated than that (even thought it doesn't have to be:whistle: ) . . .

There is nothing quite like getting a hold of your SO to make your day. I was expressing some concern about the possibility of a black hole on the West Coast and she simply suggested getting married at the airport?! I suppose this can cut down on the waiting period?

That would cut down the waiting period. . . We decided to do something quick, plus being a teacher doesn't give me enough funds for us to have an actual wedding with dress and such. . .

I hope all of us start seeing some major progress. I think January is out of the question, but I would think February will start to push the September/October envelope. It would certainly appear VSC'ers have a great shot...good luck to all of you! It will be outstanding when an October filer pops up!
I have the utmost respect for those of you waiting to see your SO for such extended periods of time! About six months was my limit!

Hi everyone,
I have just stumbled across this site and its really comforting to know there are so many people in the same positiion.
I met my Fiance whilst on a J-1 Visa in the US. We dated for 18 months before i left to return to the UK. We got engaged in Spetember 2007 and filed our K-1 application in October.
Our application was received by USCIS on October 12th.
We have planned our wedding for June 14th, does anyone think that is pushing it a bit? I have heard people who applied in early October are already getting approvals.

Yea, Another approval. Hmm for the first time I wish I lived on the east coast because Vermont is an approving machine. We, on the west coast will just have to enjoy your success and hope that California catches up. Maybe it's like the hair and the tortoise tale. We turtles will get there, but at a slower pace. It is always great to hear of an Approval.

It seems like California likes to do things in chunks so this is my take on the slower approval rate. . . that they are waiting until they have a certain amount and then are gonna let all of you Cali filers have it at once. . .like an explosion of approvals. . . that's what I think. . . just sayin'
