It's almost thanksgiving!!! smile.gif I'm excited because I get to go home, which is the next best thing to going to see my fiance! tongue.gif

Anyway, welcome to all you new people! As for being an October or November filer... I agree with the people saying to use the receipt date, not the NOA1 date! Because if we used our NOA1 date we'd almost be a November filer even though we sent it October 1st!

I really wish I were a fly on the wall of the CSC... I wanna see what the lady/man is doing with our case file! The posts relating the inner workings of the service center are just enough to whet my appetite, but not enough to quench any sort of hunger for information!!! Oh well, a little knowledge is better than nothin' I guess. smile.gif

Keep up hope everyone!!!

Hi everyone. We're also October filers! I never received a NOA1, but apparently they received it! YAY!

Welcome.
robburnsefc
Well, I filed in September - 6th of September.

Then I got my forms back on 24th because, they said, I had sent one of the forms - for Advanced Parole, to the wrong center. I checked the instructions and couldnt find anything wrong. I called and eventually spoke with an agent in LA who said he couldnt understand either. He gave me a problem desk to send to at Chicago.

The application was accepted this time and the receipt date was down as 1st October.

I received my Employment Authorization on 9th November and my Advanced Parole around 27th October. so now I am sitting tight awaiting the rest.

Very strange but relieved to now have a work card and be able to go to UK for Christmas.......

Hi everyone, just found the tread. We are October filers and wish all of you the best of luck!

By the way. For those of you that filed with the VSC, does it seem they are processing more NOA2s? Maybe I am looking at this wrong....

July - 23 NOA2s
Aug - 19 NOA2s
Sept - 9 NOA2s
Oct - 20 NOA2s
Nov - 28 NOA2s through November 12, 2007

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...ll&dfile=No

I sure hope that extra 200 employees at the VSC are paying some dividends!

They hired more employees?

Nov - "50" NOA2s through November 20, 2007! The pace is picking up. I hope the trend will continue!

Are you always that positive? blink.gif

It is possible to get NOA2(with no RFE) as quik as 4 months..
And I believe once uscis will be done with july
they will process petitions more faster..

"Cautiously optimistic" has been my mantra throughout this process. Like applewow, I'm hoping that once the bulk of the July filers are done, approval rates will go through the roof. But we also have to consider that USCIS might re-assign resources after the bulk of the July filers, which may keep approvals at their current levels. Fortunately approval rates are picking up, so there is cause for hope. Keep your fingers crossed! smile.gif
stuartx13
If you look at it 90% take right at 6 months a few less but not to Meany i hope less though but i don't want to get my hopes up.

Wow, from everything I've read on these forums, that is a very unusual response from the Service Centres - they usually give you the 'worse case scenario' and tell you not to call back until it's been at least 6 months. I hope the nice person at the Vermont Service Centre is right!

I have promised myself to not get obsessive and anxious about the wait until at least 100 days have past! So far I'm doing okay, keeping busy with work and trying not to think about it too much... Actually, the past 6 weeks since we filed have gone by pretty fast, and in no time it will be Christmas! I hope the rest of you are holding up okay as well, this is just the beginning, but we're on our way...
stuartx13
ya im in the same boat as you i dont expect it till march but i hope sooner.

Just joining the topic. I filed Oct 6 and received NOA1 Oct 10. I am impatiently waiting. . . . and crossing my fingers that everything goes quickly!!

Salutations to you all. I am new to this forum and new to the immigration process. Right now, I am fighting back the tears of separation. I have not seen my husband since march of this year.
I mailed the I-130 = 10/10/2007
Neb. Serv. Ctr received it 10/12/2007
As of yet I have not heard from them and I pulling out my eyebrows.
God give me strength to hold on ( crying.gif arrggghhhh!!).
I will keep you posted.

Hello Everyone!

I'm new to this but have been having a good peek at the forums on here and they've helped me so much. So thanks for that!

It's my partner that has filed for the K1 visa as he is an American citizen, but all this would be double dutch to him so i thought i would give it a go.

Not sure where to begin.

We have our NOA1 already which has been dated 31st October 2007.

What do I post on here next? Duh?

I'm still shocked at the length of time it takes to go through this although I've been over a number of times and will be going over again in the New Year.

Absence really does make the heart grow fonder!!

Hmm, interesting, I wonder what these touches are about? Hopefully something good! It seems out of the ordinary, since usually there's a few touches when they first receive the application, then nothing for several months while it collects dust in a box somewhere... Let us know if anything happens.

Welcome to all of the new posters.

Hi October filers! Well, it's now December and we're coming up on 2 months of waiting now! I hope everyone is holding up okay and that the wait isn't driving anyone crazy yet...

It looks like both Vermont and California are making good progress on the July filers, and they seem to be cranking out the approvals at a pretty good pace. Our turn will come!

AngandKeeb
I love the "our turn will come!" yes.gif

I was just looking at the timelines and there is a couple that received their NOA1 on Aug. 14th. They got their approval this week from Vermont. That looks very good for us right now. Sorry, I didn't check any other centers, but I am very happy to see that Aug. filer get their approval. That was just over 3 months, so they seem to be catching up again.

Hi everyone, this is my first post for October filers. I have noticed that VSC has picked up their activity lately. I am seeing that VSC is working on late July filers and that period for NOA1 to NOA2 is down to approx. 4 months. I did seem to see some activity for mid August filers and that appears to be 3 months approximately, but they may be special cases. I did not know about the new staffing, just maybe they are working already. I have noticed that the length of time between NOA1 and NOA2 have gone from 6 to 5 to 4 to 3 months in some cases. Maybe things will clear up soon like maybe October filers may get their files around Feb. to March. My name is Bryan. I do appreciate this site a lot. Thanks for all participating. I hope all will get the desires of their hearts.

Hello all,

The weather does not want to make up its mind in New York, every where was white with snow yesterday morning and it rained all nite and now it is freezing....... I want my man here so I can make fun of his reactions to the cold.... tongue.gif

Would it be too much to hope for October approvals late Dec into Jan ????????
I am running out of my mind trying to plan for a future that is held hostage at the VSC. sad.gif

Pennsylvania is the same with that weather. One day it's warm and the next it's so cold. Right now it's very windy here. I too want my fiance here to see his reaction to the cold. I tease him about it all the time laughing.gif

Yes, I do think a Dec. or Jan approval will be very fast at this point, but who knows. Anything can happen, but I would not rely on that. I'm guessing February from what I've seen.

Hello to all!

We also filed in Oct, 2007 and we sit and wait. Oct 11Th NOA1. Some days are more painful than others, are they not?! I sure hope CSC picks up the pace just a little, our process through the China Embassy is long enough as it is. Good luck to all of us!

Just playing the waiting game along with all you guys.

It's going to be a little while yet before we can start the ecstatic 'APPROVED!' posts... But, in the meantime, do any of you October filers have good stories of how you met your fiance(e)? Mine's kind of boring...we met on an online dating website. I had no intention of getting into a long-distance relationship...he was living in Canada on a work visa at the time. (I'm the Canadian) Then, after 4 months of dating, he got a dream job offer back in the States... Thus began our Visa Journey!

Osakeme
We met at a wedding in January in Nigeria, I was maid of honor and he was 1 of the groom's men. We spoke everynite for a week(from midnite till 4am) and then I decided to go out and visit him in abuja. I had a blast, but I still came to NY not wanting anything to do with a long distant, international, across the sea, will not see you anythime soon relationship tongue.gif . but after a few months of speaking on the phone, IMs, emails especially the phone calls I knew I would never be able to forget him/let him go. crying.gif It was not a easy decision for me to make as it is for quite a few others.......
You know what .........it is the BEST DECISION I have made.

Now I just need VSC to get with the program
DongDong
I do not have anything cutesy to add. However, I was wondering how often you plan to travel (or have traveled) to see your finance (our loved ones) during the next several months we have to wait. It would certainly appear that July or August, is not out of the realm of possibilities in our forced separation? The Guangzhou Embassy in China is a four month process at the least!
I am going again to China in January, but if I plan another trip beyond this, I might actually be coming at the interview time? Of course I would go every month, if work would let me and it wasn't such a financial drain. She is worth every dime.... smile.gif
How did all of you weigh this out?

PS We met on a website too... boring... but wow, am I happy we did!
Osakeme
Unfortunately I will not be able to travel to Nigeria to see him........... crying.gif
I really pray everything goes speedy& smoothly. The next time I will see him will be at the POE kicking.gif not counting webcam ofcourse. Financially I thank God I still have a job, but NY is really expensive so I am looking for another job yes.gif . I am also itching to move out of NY so I am applying everywhere in the US. The worst part is; it is as though everyone stopped hiring and want to concentrate on the holidays. blush.gif

I am sorry, this must be difficult for you both. I pray it goes smoothly for you and him. You face (perhaps) yet another dilemma if you move, right? A change of address on your petition?
There are times I wondered ( I am sure we all do) what I did in my life, before I ever got into my relationship with my Sweetheart! I truly hope you find something that works for you... Best of Luck!

Thanks....... I am worried about what will happen if I switch centers...... VSC needs to hurry up....... it seems as though july is not yet done and the speed( #of approvals) that was generated in November has vanished into thin air.

Wow, the longest my fiance and I have ever gone without seeing each other is 2 months, and that felt like forever... I really feel for all of you who live so far away from each other and have to go so long without seeing each other. I don't know how you do it! I guess you have no choice, so you just endure.

Well, it's officially been 2 months + 1 day since we mailed off our K1 petition. I'm hoping this is the halfway point to NOA2 - I'm making a bold prediction that we will be getting NOA2 on February 5th! Go CSC go! (and VSC too!)

I met my sweetie when we were both translating in Guatemala on a medical mission. I honestly thought he was kind of a jerk when we met, and he thought the same of me. . . but we warmed up to each other quickly over a game of UNO where he kicked my butt. We kept in touch and I started visiting him. I was telling one of my friends today that you can trace the seriousness of our relationship on the amount we talk. . . when we first started out we talked every so often and now we talk 5 or more times a day. . . we both feel like our meeting was so by chance that we were just meant for each other. . .
melusine
We also met online smile.gif on a canadian dating site called plenty of fish (so sexy lol). At that time i just wanted someone to talk because i was going through some thinking about my life and what will be next. (i'm a project and goal person).
So we start talking about this and that but after just a few days.... something was strange....our talk cross from general exciting talking to kinda flirtous. Next thing we know the next month he landed in Quebec city where i was living at that time. We had a great time, he discovered the city, the european lookalike architecture etc (very exotic for someone in los angeles)... I rented a loghouse for a weekend, we even had some snow, it was just awesome !
We had talked to start the K1 process at that time (we were quite serious) but i decided to go back to school in an intensive 1yr program instead and we kept on going our relationship by distance...for one year !
Then he came back around the same time this year, but in montreal (i moved) and that time we decided to start our process for real... we were more ready, my school is soon to be done etc.

I will see him this xmas time then... after that we'll see how it goes... perhaps he will come once before the process is done then..... yey ! we will finally get together ! start for me a new career, for him eventually change his and start a family soon (i will be 33 at that time and he is 37) since we don't have kids yet .. need to start thinking about it somehow....(damn i feel so young for that).

so this is our little story smile.gif
melusine
i forgot to say ... before he came for the second time, we also did that book called 1001 question to ask before marriage and most of our answer were just so nicely made to be together.. there is just no doubts !

He is the most patient, nice, amazing, interesting, diplomatic, curious person i have ever met ! Everything feel just so right !
