My fiance just called me from Barbados. The denied his visa because the consulate officer said that he wasn't convinced that we have a bonafide relationship. He questioned why I wasn't with him at the interview. He told them I have to work.

I sent my fiance 1" thick worth of evidence. Phone call receipts, boarding passes, money transfer receipts, pictures, emails, cards, and all of my financial documents. I sent EVERYTHING that they could possibly want or need. The CO said he is not convinced and told my fiance that he is denying it and that I should speak to the USCIS here in the US.

Please help me.....what can I do at this point? I don't understand why they denied him because I sent a lot of evidence and we do have a bona fide relationship. The CO did not give my fiance anything back. What happens next? How can an individual decide our fate?

Please help me....I am so desperate. I do not know what to do next. I am beside myself and sitting here in shock and disbelief.
Roselinda
Oh my goodness!

I'm so sorry to hear that. sad.gif

I can't even begin to imagine what you are going through.

I hope once you call the USCIS, they will be able to give you some good news.

I don't know anything about the procedures that follow but I do wish you both all the luck in the world.

You've always been a great help to us.

halle
O wow.. i'm so sorry to hear that Luciansgirl.. =( surely you can appeal this though.. esp. given the amount of info you gave to them.. they didn't give the info back though?! Were they just copies (hope) and not originals? *hugs* I'm so sorry.. really wish I knew something more to say and the ability to help you out. Do hang in there, get on to the US Consulate!

Thank you so much for all your replies. I really appreciate it.

I sent the immigration assistant, Monica Maxwell, a couple of emails this morning after finding out about the denial.
I just go thru the embassy in Barbados hoping to talk to the CO who interviewed my fiance but he was still unavailable. Monica got on the phone and she assured me that it's not the end of the world and not to worry. She said she will forward my emails to the CO and to expect a reply from him this week. She said he will state what else he needs from me and that our file is not going anywhere until I provide him what he needs. If a second interview is needed, I will be there with my fiance. I feel a little better that we still have hope. I will keep you all posted with our dilemma. Please keep us in your prayers....we really need it right now.
debbylyn
OMG...that is horrible! Hopefully they will straighten it out soon! What a shock!

Well that sounds a bit more encouraging, at least. You certainly have both of our prayers! If you haven't done this already, I would try asking others who have gone through the same consulate. They would know the mindset of the people you are dealing with perhaps.
karvy02
Congrats to you, Halle! It's hard to believe that my British sweetie will be here for good in just two days.

I'm very sorry, Lucian. I would definitely post on the Barbados forum and ask others who have experience with that Consulate/Embassy. They should be sending you an official notice with the rationale for the denial, and hopefully they will give you more information on how to petition USCIS for reconsideration.

You might want to also post to the larger forum (not this thread) to see what any of the veterans think. Again, I'm sorry you have to go through this. I can only imagine how you must be feeling. sad.gif

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I am in disbelief right now. I cannot believe this is happening to you. I am truly in shock. Those CO's are so full of it. I dont even know what to say to you, other than STAY ON THEM. I would call, write, and harrass Barbados till theyre sick of me. Im so sorry this is happening.

I am so so sorry this is happening! I agree with lucy4 though, keep calling and bothering them. They are very moody over there... and it's sad to say but the do deny people just because they feel like it... I have had friends that have been denied for different visas over there for no reason. Keep strong and keep fighting it

I just wanted to update everyone that the CO finally replied to my emails this morning stating: "The officer was not inclined to issue the visa and needs to talk to the petitioner regarding her relationship with her fiance. We are requesting an interview with the petitioner before the visa can be issued. Please make arrangements to come to the Embassy." YES!!!

My interview is set for June 11th. My fiance and I will go to the embassy together and this time, I am armed with about 3" worth of evidence which includes ALL my cell phone bills, the phone records I requested from the online site I've been using which shows the date, origin #, destination #, and the duration of each calls I made to my fiance. I will also bring letters of support from my friends and my father.

Things are looking so much brighter for us now! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers and wish us luck!
Damian&Kelly
Best of luck to you!! I'm soo happy they wrote back to you! You're in my thoughts and prayers!

That's good to hear, LuciansGirl!

I'm flying out to Vancouver in two days for ours and then we are taking a vacation and then I'm visiting my parents so I will probably not be on line for the next two weeks. Soooo....

Good luck to everyone with interviews coming up soon. And in case I miss anyone's post telling us they were approved, congratulations.

EmpressM
Good Luck LuciansGirl you are in our thoughts and prayers. Keep us all updated!

"Was not inclined to issue the visa?!?" What a crock! Oh well, I'm sooo relieved that they are giving you a second chance at the interview - I'm sure your persistence will convince them this time around. Extra big good luck LuciansGirl!!! kicking.gif

Thank you lord. June 11th is right around the corner too. Consider it a lil vacation together, Barbados is beautiful. Be the embassy's worst nightmare... in your most polite manner of course.

I have faith. Good Luck.
LuciansGirl
Thank you everyone!

I kept praying that we'd get another chance to prove them wrong and we finally got the chance. Honestly, from the lengthy email I sent the CO, I'm sure he knows that he probably made a mistake but with me going there on a moment's notice will be proof...along with the 3" thick documentation we'll be bringing with us.

Prayers do work and God is good!!!

Lucy, I've never been to Barbados so it will be a nice pre-wedding getaway for me and my fiance. I'll be spening 8 glorious days with him and I'm so happy we're gonna see each other soon!! smile.gif

I'll keep you all posted.

Well we did it ... almost 8 months, lots of frustration and a hellishly long 3 hours in the embassy and we are out the other end.

To be honest, it hasn't even sunk in yet. We are so tired and stressed from the whole affair that when we got back to belfast last night we just went to bed. I think it will be a few days. When we get my passport back then we will celebrate.

My sincerest thanks to EVERYONE here. To those that helped answer my dumb ### questions to those who posted the guides and to the genius hat set up this site. Without it we would have been in the dark vis a vis a lot of the pitfalls and issues at hand.

And for those of you that haven't made it yet take heart. Just over two months ago we were still waiting on NOA2, It's coming for you soon and when it does your feet won't hit the ground until you get that visa.

Now, I'm off to write my resignation letter ...

I just wanted to let all my friends here in the October filers thread know that Billy and I were married on May 23rd. smile.gif So I guess that officially ends our K-1 journey. We're now filling out our Adjustment of Status forms and putting the package together - so rest assured that the paperwork never ends!!!

Thank you all for your support, and I hope those of you still waiting have successful interviews and that all the foreign fiance(e)s have safe journeys over here!

Hopefully I'll see you all in the Adjustment of Status threads soon!

Well our visa arrived today .. so that's (almost) that ... the envelope has to go back to get resealed as my beloved opened it but it's not a biggie as it doesn't have to be re-evaluated etc.

Best wishes to you all.

Congratulations, Eli. Let me know when the wedding is, I'll be there. My Natalya has her interview in June 30, in Moscow. And, even though we've been warned NOT to purchase airfare until after the interview, I have reservations for her to fly in to Portland on July 18 (I booked it a month ago and as of now the price has almost doubled).

Be sure to get in touch when you arrive in Oregon, we'll have a beer at McMenemins.
