Hi everybody! I've been busy lately, so haven't posted in a while - but here's what's new with me. I had my medical last week, and my paperwork is all in order. My interview date is scheduled for April 29th in Vancouver, and I'm getting ready to head out there in a week. I sold my condo, the movers are coming on Friday, so now I'm packing up all my worldly possessions and saying goodbye to all my friends here.

It's a very strange time for me. I'm feeling very excited about finally being reunited with my fiance, but I'm also feeling very sad about leaving my home behind. I've been an emotional wreck lately! I know I will learn to like my new life in the US, but I feel horribly homesick already, and I haven't even left yet... Anyway, I will report back after my interview and let you know how it went. Back to packing...

i'm sure i'll have the same feelings you're having once it is time for me to move. i already have days when i walk out my front door and think "i'm really going to miss this place." and i've been making an effort of spending much more time out and about with friends. this is such a strange but exciting process.

We just got our NOA2 today! Hooray! Earlier this week I had my congressional representative inquire with USCIS.. that may've helped.. hard to say, since it was long due anyway. Very happy.

Meridien--stupid question: what time did they tell you to pick up the visa? We're trying to work out a trip to Vancouver Island after our interview, and it would help to know if we can pick it up the next morning or not until some time in the afternoon. I'll ask this on the Canada branch though.

Hi there! They told me to pick it up at 2:00pm the next day. I showed up about 15 minutes early, because I wanted to make a 3:00pm ferry to Nanaimo. I was in and out of the office in 5 minutes or so. When you go pick up your visa, there will be a line of people outside waiting for visa pickup, but you can go to the front of the line and tell them you're picking up a fiance visa and they will let you right in. I made my ferry with time to spare.

You also asked me a while back if I my fiance was at the interview with me, and the answer is no, I went by myself. We decided that he should save his vacation days for a fun holiday later this year instead. And honestly, Billy gets very nervous around official government types, so I didn't think he would be much help anyway! Being by myself wasn't a problem at all.

Thank you! That's very helpful. That's probably the same ferry he is talking about. We are trying to do too much on Vancouver Island I think. Catching a 3 pm ferry would kick so much butt!

He just got his visa! We're so happy! He's coming in on May 22, and we can finally start a life together.
