Well.... touched again, at 0830 hours today. But no update as to what they were doing. I was waiting to see if an update of some kind might pop up, but as of 4:30 this afternoon (and about 50 checks of the online status), nothing. The decaf is helping, though. LOL

I bet this is it Tars! You have waited long enough.

Nice to meet you everyone.
I am new to VJ, so I am not quite sure on how to utilize all those wonderful tools on VJ....
I hope to learn them quickly.

Anyway, I am another October filer to CSC.
My fiancee and I mailed our I-129F on October 8, 2007.
Our NOA1 arrived on Oct 19. (They received our application on Oct 9 according to USPS though...)
NOA1 stated that they received out application on Oct. 18....Oh well....
The first touch to our case occured on Oct 24.
Then guess what...... Nothing happened since then......

Since We saw that lots of November filers were being approved, we got really really upset and
worried at the same time; was our application lost????
So, my fiancee called USCIS on March 24 and was finally connected to an immigration officer.
Well, guess what we found out.... Our application was left somewhere.... it was not assigned to an
officer yet.... Damit!!!!!!!! mad.gif The officer my fiancee talked to on the phone was very nice, so she promised
that she would personally bring our application to where it needed to go. Thanks her so much.
So, our account was updated on Oct 25 after a long time of no action.
Well, we have not heard anything from them yet... No Approval, No Ref, nothing....
I hope we do not receive REF after 5 and half years of wait....
On April 14, it will reach 180days since we received our NOA1.... Craziness.... wacko.gif

I was in the U.S. as a university student for 5 years before.... and one of my best friends is
having her wedding ceremony in August. I was asked to be bride's maid and am really looking
forward to doing that..... I hope they do not ruin it.......

So, anyway, I hope all October filers get approved soon. yes.gif

I am sorry... I made so many mistakes on the last thred and confused you.... Here I made corrections:

Welcome, Nao! The California Service Center filers are now seeing some approvals so hopefully you will get through soon. Your NOA1 date should still be the priority date on your application since it was at the CSC, so it shouldn't be too long now, with luck. Japan is known for highly efficient visa services once it gets to the consular stage, you should get an interview very quickly!

We're planning an August wedding too. Worse thing that happens is you come to the US as a visitor for your friend's wedding, but it's still highly likely you'll have your visa in hand by then even if you do get a RFE. よい運! Kouun wo inorimasu!

Nao-san,

Wow, sorry to hear what CSC did to you... mad.gif
But as karvy02 mentioned, it shouldn't be too long. And, my experience tells that once you receive Packet 3, you'll get visa in hand in 5 weeks good.gif Good luck!

Hello Karvy02 and K&W.

Karvy02: It is kind of early, but Congratulations on your wedding in August. I think it was a long way till you get to this point. You totally deserve a wonderful wedding with lots of smiles, joy and happiness. I am really really happy for you. star_smile.gif

K&W: Yea... I was really mad and down first, but I feel much relieved now because of all the support VJ members such as you give me. Thanks star_smile.gif

Thank you so much for your message. I feel a lot, seriously much much much better about my situation now because I feel like I got people on my back now star_smile.gif I was feeling so down for the past two to three weeks because of this visa situation... But, I am back now with much positivity. Thank you so much.

It is great to hear that CSC filers are seeing some more approvals. And... I checked our account just now and found out that our case was touched today laughing.gif Since they have 8 more hours before they close today, there can be a possibility that our case gets approved. PLEASE!!!! PLEASE!!! PLEASE approve it!!! PLEASE:dance:
Well, that can be because my fiance called USCIS yesterday.... unsure.gif Well, I try not to expect too much, but stay positive and sleep well tonight. It is still a progress good.gif So, I am really happy star_smile.gif

I am also glad to know that it takes only about 5 weeks to receive visa once I receive packet3. Also, Japan has highly efficient visa services. Yes!! Thank you, Karvy02 and K&W, for the info. I cannot wait to get visa in my hand. blush.gif
I did not know that I can visit US while waiting for my visa approval. Then, I can make it to my friend's wedding good.gif Thank you. Now, I really feel relieved. It was one of my biggest concerns. I think my best friend will also be really happy to hear that.

I will let you know as soon as I get some update from USCIS.

Thanks a lot star_smile.gif

Hi Tars. Yes, it really seems like that California came to a dead stop....
We still hear "nothing" from CSC and we are 180day period is coming in 12 days....Craziness...
Well, let's cross our fingers to hear your, my and every other October filers' good news.

Anway, I have a question:
Is it possible to receive an approval e-mail or to see an update on our account outside of USCIS's hours of operation (8:00a.m.- 5:00p.m)?

Thanks star_smile.gif

I know of several persons on this site that have seen "touches" on their accounts on Saturdays and Sundays. I, personally, have had a touch on Sunday, Feb 24, 2008.

Thanks Tars for your reply. star_smile.gif

I am glad to know that people including yourself have seen updates on weekends.
Well, at VSC, some of Feb filers have already gotten their applications approved at this point....
So, CSC had better work on weekends. devil.gif

I checked K1 timeline for CSC just now... There is no single approval from CSC on 4/1 and 4/2 yet.
What is CSC doing??? mad.gif I hope this is an April Fool Joke blink.gif

Klaire and Martin
Does anyone know if it's possible to walk in to the service center and speak to someone?
SonoranSongbird
Klaire & Martin, I don't know for sure, but I don't think so. Unless maybe the local office for Orange County is in the same building, but even then, probably not. Unfortunately.

Tars, you got touched again--I have my fingers crossed that it will turn out to be your NOA2.
Sylvia_n_Joseph
I just got an Noa2 a few days ago. They seem to be having issues with their online and email as I did NOT recieve an email and online it still says recieved and PENDING. Check you snail mail . I live very near USCIS so mail can come quickly. I saw touches 2 days in a row then.... NOA2 in snail mail 3 days later. I really hope the reason everyone at CSC has hit the skids is a computer problem

Hi Klaire and Martin.

We were told before by an operator that we can make an appointment with an officer at CSC.
So, you may be able to make an appointment and visit CSC personally. However, the bottom line is you have to have a special circumstance which requires their special attention....

By the way, your timeline is very similar to ours. We sent in my I-129F on Oct. 9, 2007 and received NOA1 on Oct 19, 2007. Then, there is no NOA2 till today(Also, No REF)....It is frustrating cuz lots lots of applications filed way later than us are being approved. I totally understand how you feel.
Anyway, did you recently call CSC and talked to an officer there (not an telephone operator)? You might have already done that... but if you have not, you should. It seemed that our application was left in the storage area for way long time. When my fiancee called CSC on March 25, he explained our situation and told an officer that there seem to be lots of applications sent in long time after us but are already approved. Then, the officer promised to personally bring our application to where it was supposed to be. When my fiancee called in three days later, our application was already with an adjucator. Well, we have not heard anything since then. However, it is still a progress for us to know that it is with an adjucator. We are hoping to hear from them this week. Well, I hope this works for you, too. Good Luck good.gif
JKD_88
Today makes exactly one month since we were approved and my fiance has still not received the packet. Plus there's a strike going on with the mail service in Brazil, is there anything I can do to check if the packet has already been sent?
SonoranSongbird
JKD, you can call or email the consulate (check the embassy information or consulate reviews section to see how they prefer to be contacted--I know it varies by consulate). It can take a month for your petition even to reach the consulate from when it leaves USCIS and then it takes some time to reach her from the consulate as well, so I would not be too concerned about it at this point. You should probably call the NVC (603-334-0700) to get your case number so the consulate can look it up for you. They can also tell you when it was sent to the consulate. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get through except late in the evening. They will ask for your USCIS receipt numer and your fiancee's name and birthdate, or possibly both of your names and birth dates.

Joseph & Sylvia, CONGRATULATIONS!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

Congrats to all the new approvals and those about to interview. My case is stuck in RFE limbo. Sent the reply while in the UK March 22 and called CSC today to see if it was received. Spoke with a really rude man who told me I will have no way of knowing if it is received or not. So I will call back next week to check again....sigh....

Wow, what a jerk he was. I can think of a stronger, more apt word for it, but I don't feel like substituting Zs or dollar signs for S's. Do you have a tracking number from the UK postal service or UPS, FedEx, or whatever you used to send it?

congratulations everyone!!!!!

I don't know how long it should take to get my interview date, but so far my fiance hasn't received her Packet 3 yet, and to worsen things there's this strike going on in Brazil but the mail service. I'm going to wait a little bit and then call the consulate as songbird suggested, does anyone have any more advice? Is it possible to just go and pick it up, I mean my fiance lives in Rio so it would be no trouble.

It tells you when and how to call them. There is also a web address where you can download the forms that would be in packet 3. The embassy link may also provide more info for you.
