Congrats to all the new approvals! My sweetie is in town, so I haven't been checking the forum, but it's nice to see the October filers getting their due!

We got good news today! Interview date is set for April 18! WOOO! It was a relief after his police report took SO LONG to come in and we just sent our checklist back on February 28, but if everything goes according to plan, our original estimate of a mid-May arrival will go off as planned.

I just received my NOA2 Hardcopy!!!!!! I'm really happy but I do have one question. On the paper it says that my approval is valid from 03/07/08 to 07/07/08. Does this mean that our interview will definately be somewhere between these dates? If so I am really happy!!!!!!!!

JKD, your interview might or might not... all depending on brazil embassy.
If not, you would need to ask for an extension before the 07/07/08.

JKD, how the interview is scheduled varies from consulate to consulate, so you might want to ask other people going through the same consulate. You can also check the consulate reviews section. It won't be from USCIS though; it will be the consulate scheduling it and letting you know the date through whatever procedures they have set up. I think most consulates send a letter via snail mail to the non-US fiance.

Sorry for my downer yesterday guys!!! Mercedes is away home and my Mum died 13 years ago on St Patrick's Day (yesterday) so it's never a good day as you can imagine!!! It gets worse when you are waiting for an NOA2.

But life goes on and in one of those funny twists of fate, when I checked my USCIS case this very minute I found this ...

Tars, when I saw your handle as the last reply, I was hoping it meant you got your NOA2. Halle got hers about two weeks after VSC got their reply to their RFE and I think JKD88's time frame was similar, so I think it's going to be coming very soon! (Where is the clairvoyant Meridien when you need her?)

Every time I talk to my fiance on the phone or get an email from him, I hope he's going to tell me Vancouver sent him packet 3. There is always something new to wait for.

I just got another letter!!!!!!! It said that the NVC has received our petition and that it was sent to the consulate in Rio de Janeiro !!!!!!

It also gave me a new case number, does this mean that I can track it on the RJ consulate website? I tried finding some "check your case online" similar to what's on the USCIS website but I couldn't find anything, does anyone know if we are able to do anything with this new case number?

Thanks for the well wishes, SonoranSongbird. I've finally made the decision to stop checking my status online every freaking hour. I only check it once a day now. I sure hope it comes soon, but at this point I'm expecting the worst but hoping for the best.

Hey there - you know funnily enough I had decided to do the same thing after I sent my RFE back .. was tired of constantly looking on USCIS for a touch or approval email.. then that Friday I had checked in the morning, nothing.. afternoon.. nothing.. early evening a TOUCH! Then two or three hours later I had an email stating they had approved our application!! Two weeks and a day from the time I sent the application back. I also had rung the USCIS line the day before just to make sure they had everything (also hoping they might tell me what was going on). I don't know if that helped or not but the next day it was dealt and done with.

Hi Everyone,

I've not been on here in awhile. I've had a busy month.

I filed my I-129f in october 2007.
I recieved my NOA1 on october 18th 2007.
NOA2 was recieved end of feb 2008, Medical was 10th of March and my interview is 28th March!!!

Once i was approved it has happened very quickly. I can only hope everyone else is as lucky as i have been. I feel really bad for all those who filled before i did.

JKD, the NVC case number that you got in the letter from them is the case number from here on out. How and if you can track it through the Rio consulate I don't know, because that varies from consulate to consulate.

well i'm back from 10 days of training in Dallas.

still no noa2, but my SO gave in and called using the rfe trick!

ok. i know it's a bit sneaky but hey.........according to our timeline we should've at least of been touched by now.

as a result of his call we have been touched twice in two days, and even though we're still waiting another two weeks from now, at least we know they have the file there and it's not lost in some dark, dank, corner of some stinky storage unit.

I got my passport back from embassy..... means K-1 visa in hand
I'm moving to Miami on 8th, and then will start AOS as soon as possible.... i.e. start another journey.

I know some people are still waiting for NOA2, got RFE... but I also know the people who got RFE were approved pretty quick after they sent back the evidence. I pray for you... Good luck

Couldn't believe it. Checked the website today looking for touches. There were none.

Did laundry, came back and there was the email in my inbox!

Well.... touched again, at 0830 hours today. But no update as to what they were doing. I was waiting to see if an update of some kind might pop up, but as of 4:30 this afternoon (and about 50 checks of the online status), nothing. The decaf is helping, though. LOL

I am new to VJ, so I am not quite sure on how to utilize all those wonderful tools on VJ....
I hope to learn them quickly.

Anyway, I am another October filer to CSC.
My fiancee and I mailed our I-129F on October 8, 2007.
Our NOA1 arrived on Oct 19. (They received our application on Oct 9 according to USPS though...)
NOA1 stated that they received out application on Oct. 18....Oh well....
The first touch to our case occured on Oct 24.
Then guess what...... Nothing happened since then......

Since We saw that lots of November filers were being approved, we got really really upset and
worried at the same time; was our application lost????
So, my fiancee called USCIS on March 24 and was finally connected to an immigration officer.
Well, guess what we found out.... Our application was left somewhere.... it was not assigned to an
officer yet.... Damit!!!!!!!! The officer my fiancee talked to on the phone was very nice, so she promised
that she would personally bring our application to where it needed to go. Thanks her so much.
So, our account was updated on Oct 25 after a long time of no action.
Well, we have not heard anything from them yet... No Approval, No Ref, nothing....
I hope we do not receive REF after 5 and half years of wait....
On April 14, it will reach 180days since we received our NOA1.... Craziness....

I was in the U.S. as a university student for 5 years before.... and one of my best friends is
having her wedding ceremony in August. I was asked to be bride's maid and am really looking
forward to doing that..... I hope they do not ruin it.......

So, anyway, I hope all October filers get approved soon.
