Lucy -

Since your check just cleared. Maybe you have the same bank as the VSC??
But how did u get the number on the back of the check so quickly?

After calling the customer service number, really nothing can be done until 4 weeks have passed and haven't received any information...

I'm going crazy, considering the petition was received 2 weeks ago today....And it seems like Vermont is sending out NOA1s for cases received last week!?

I do online banking, so I can view my check front and back online.

If you do not do online banking, your bank can get the image of the check for you immediately. But it has to clear first.

Newest October Filer is here. I sent my I-129F package to CSC on the 16th and was delivered on the 17th. Good luck to everyone on the journey.

Hello, my I129F was sent to CSC on October 5th, so I thought I'd add my name to the list of October filers! Wish me luck and great patience...

NOA1 arrived quickly, it was mailed on October 11th and landed in my fiances mailbox on October 16th! Word is that CSC has added extra staff to deal with the backlog, so hopefully our waits won't be as long as some of the others before us that I've read on the forums... Have to stay positive, right?

Good luck everyone!

By the way, I can't figure out how to add the nifty timeline at the bottom of my posts like the rest of you, I assume that's an automatic signature or something? How do you do it?
Chris & Olya
Its nice to see that there is a page for us October filers. Lets hope the backlog will clear out and that we will have the good fortune of having our petitions processed faster than expected because of staff possibly being increased at the service centers smile.gif Anyways, its nice to know that there is group of us here with the same goal. Good Luck to everyone!
Natashabrenda
Well my Fiance received NoA1 Hardcopy in the mail yesterday!
On top f that processing Times for Frankfurt Consulate have gone down from 70 days to 55 and now to 48!!!!!!
So MAYBE we can still get married on May 17th?! NoA2 for my little boys birthday on 02/04 would be nice!
Go CSC!
Good luck to all of us and a speedy Journey so we can be reunited with our better halfs!

If you go to my controls you can update your signature from there. There is no automatic population from the timeline. You have to manually enter the details into your signature.

My check was cashed and deciphered the receipt number. kicking.gif

When did a status check they indicated the petition was received on October 16th...However, it was received on October 4th at VSC?? Oh well, at least some sign of life....

Anyone else experienced that kind of delay?

Just the beginning....

Anyone else petitioning from North Carolina?

Natashabrenda
According to the USCIS website we have been touched on the 16th,18th and 19th of October.....Our Petition was received on the 10th and NoA 1 issued on the 12th.
I'd like to know why we're being touched that much.........good or bad sign?
Everytime I see a touch I worry about an RFE.....

I thought I may as well get this one started. I sent my I-129F package yesterday, October 1 to the VSC. Let's hope the timelines start getting a little quicker with USCIS.

vsc received my k-1 packet oct. 18. the waiting begins!

We've received 3 touches this week too, after receiving our NOA1 on October 11th...I'm a bit worried about the possibility of an RFE, but what can you do? From everything I've read on these forums, the touches are pretty random - some people never get a single one, while others get lots. It doesn't appear to have any correlation to how quickly people's applications are adjudicated. So let's hope it's a good sign!

We got our NOA1 yesterday!! According to mail service it arrived in CSC on the 15th but receipt date was 18th. Never mind, this is already shorter than we expected. Hopefully the delay is solved or improved!

I don't have the NOA1 yet, but I did finally get the green card back from the postal service and it was stamped "USCIS received 10/12/07" even though, according to the USPS website, it was successfully delivered on the 9th. I'm almost afraid to check to see whether my check has cleared yet. If it hasn't, I will be more worried than if I don't check. If it has, well, all that means is I can obsessively check the USCIS website.
EnS
Good luck! I hope you get it one of these days!

Okay, our check cleared Friday. I don't have online banking so I'm going to have to go next door (to the bank) to get a printout of the back of the check before I can go on their site to find the NOA1, but I'm assuming for now that they have issued it. Our whole office is going out to lunch today for a combined birthday lunch for me and our secretary so I will probably do that tomorrow. For now, I'm just relieved that we are probably in the system.

When I told my mom about the three-day difference between the reciept date USCIS stamped on the return reciept card and the USPS website, she said "Oh, that's the federal government for you." She is a retired federal employee, too.
sweety&baby
NOA1 recieved in the mail today. It is dated Oct. 17th even though they sent my application back because of the amount on my check. I'm very happy to see that they still process it even with that. kicking.gif
SonoranSongbird
I'm glad they kept your receipt date the same!

Okay, stupid question here, but I have a copy of the back of the check (blown up to about twice the size of a check, too) and there are MANY different numbers on there and I have no idea which is the file number/case number/whatever they call it. Is there a certain number of digits in it? Or a certain part of the check it would be on?
SonoranSongbird
Okay, ignore the above question. It was obvious when I got on the website for USCIS.

For anyone else whose check has just cleared who has not gotten their NOA1 yet, just go on USCIS website and follow the links for "check status online." Their description of which number is the receipt number is very clear (13-digit number beginning with certain 3-letter codes, which are listed there).

I was hoping I would be able to figure it out when I got on the site, but I really never dreamed it would be that clear.

And...

WOOHOO! NOA1 was October 16th! If I did not live in the middle of the cornfields, I'd probably already have it in the mail.

Hi guys,

I noticed this morning my check posted to my account. I went to the mailbox and there was the NOA1. It was a nice feeling. Now come the WAIT! I am trying to get my Juliana to understand that this process takes time. She is under the illusion it will only take 4 months. I keep telling her 6-8 but I will let her dream.

Here is a toast to all! Here is to the first step and expensive phone bills! Salu!

JKD 88--- Parabéns e boa sorte. Nós iremos estar esperando com vocês.

Just curious, how many touches do you guys get following the week after you received NOA1? Ours were received on the 17th and hardcopy arrived on the 22nd, since then, we've been touched twice.

Since holiday season is coming, i wish USCIS still work during those days for the sake we paid for the more expensive price - however, we are receiving a slower service instead!

Just checked our account today and we were touched again, even on Sunday! Seems most people being touched is good, we are actually feeling nervous for being touched 3 times shortly after we received NOA1. Oh well.. hope it is for good!

Not sure yet - Oregon maybe, but it could be Chicago, New York, SF or Connecticut. It's all down to which Law School the Mrs decides on ...

Not a bad dilemma to have though really ...
sweety&baby
Finally my new check cleared the bank. I was starting to get a little nervous about it. I have had no touches either. I'm hoping that doesn't mean anything. I'm just relieved to know that they have it and they are still working on it and it isn't just sitting on a shelf somewhere.

To answer the question about where we'll live. Hopfully, my fiance will be able to find work in computer science where I live now. I have 3 kids and I'm sure they'd like to stay here, but we'll see what happens.

I am new to all of this but since I filled in October I thought that I should add my name to the waiting list.
Good luck to everyone!

Ok everyone. I know that touches don't mean a whole lot in general, but mentally they mean something to us. So I have a question. Does it say touched on the main page when you enter your case? I had to mail a new check and it cashed Monday, so I think my case should say touched. They'd have to do something to it to cash the check. Don't you think? I'm just getting curious here. Thanks in advance.
StillThePrettiest
as far as I'm aware, it NEVER says 'touched', and the only indication you'll get that it has been is once you're logged in - you'll see a sort of grid thing, with your case number, and a 'last updated' box, and if that date has changed, your file has been 'touched'

mine was touched - I guess - on August 2, and not since then; I'm not sure if that was just the NOA1 (received date is down as July 19 on the hard copy, but July 27 on the website, so I guess they could have still been fiddling with it on August 2 wink.gif ) but I don't really care either way... touches mean nothing; just want that NOA2 so I can start making plans!! do they realise I have to fit in a trip to Australia after leaving London, AND organise the shipping of all my worldly goods from two continents?! they're so inconsiderate biggrin.gif
