I thought I may as well get this one started. I sent my I-129F package yesterday, October 1 to the VSC. Let's hope the timelines start getting a little quicker with USCIS.

Thanks to all. We can only hope that the USCIS makes progress catching up from the end of July surge. People filing before the new fees took effect. I understand that's why they're so backed up.
Welcome October filers. And I'm not just saying that because there's *finally* someone behind me!

Hi to all,
I'm VERY happy to say that we are now officially October Filers to!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Sweetie is on the way to the UPS Store right now mailing our I 129F in to CSC per overnight express!!!!!!!
oThank God we FINALLY achieved that goal.
I wish all of us a speedy Journey and that we may be reunited with our loved ones soon!
Thanks for all the support and encouragment I have received from the great and helpful people on this site over the passed two years in which James and I had to fight like hell to get his divorce done and over with.
The worst part is over, now we "just " have to wait the K1 Journey out!!!

something to obsess about... Then I can devote those energies to the process and not to how long we've been apart...

HAHAHA......seriously though...welcome to one of the most obbsessive, frustrating journey's of your life.....never lose sight of your destination,.....a lifetime with your loved one. I'm off to check my progress for the second time today even though I know I'm at least a month off anything happening...you know...just in case!!! Good luck to you all and have a speedy and stress free journey!

FYI, received my NOA1 today via snail mail. The notice date was October 3. Based on other postings I've seen I consider this fast. October 1 began the new fiscal year for the U.S. government. Maybe some new staff began that day - who knows? Anyway, I'm glad to get it so soon. Now let's hope the NOA2s are issued in good time.

Thanks for starting an October forum.
Sent out the I-129F on October 1st to VSC and it was received on Oct. 4th...Still no word regarding the NOA1 but promised myself not to worry!
This forum serves as a great support group for all of us separated from our loved ones.
Hopefully something will arrive in the mail today!

Yes, I thought it was a rather quick turnaround, including the check being cashed. VSC seems to be faster than CSC, unfortunately. I don't know why it takes them so long to issue NOA1. I also know that VSC is or has hired 200 new workers, excluding contrators. Maybe that's why they are getting it done faster. Anyway, I wish you the best and good luck!!!

It doesnt seem dumb at all... I think we all feel that way. I felt excited as soon as I exited the Post Office. I knew it was probably still sitting there, but just the feeling that it is out of my hands was exciting.

Not to burst anyones bubble or anything but the CSC seems to be extremely slow. Extremely. CSC received our package on the fourteenth of September and the check has yet to be cashed. No notices, no nothing. I am completely baffled beyond belief as to why they are moving slower than a tortoise. I guess you could say that the CSC is the tortoise and the VSC is the hare.

The 1-129F package was signed for on October 4th at VSC and haven't received any information, and my check wasn't cashed...
Should i be concerned? And I suppose it's too early to contact anyone at the VSC, right?
Any feedback is appreciated...
Thanks

I know how frustrating it is, but I don't see how you will gain anything by calling... they know they're backlogged; they know they have receipting delays; they have a FAQ list about it on their website... calling will not get you anything more than some of the standard answers, and may just make you more annoyed
unless you have reason to think your petition went astray before it even got to the service centre (and it doesn't sound as if you do), then I'd just sit tight and wait it out

Another October filer,
Timeline:
10/04/07: Sent package to VSC via express mail
10/05/07: Package received and signed by Novak
10/09/07: Check cashed.
10/09/07: NOA1 sent
10/12/07: Touched
10/13/07: NOA1 received via snail mail

It looks like some people are getting their receipt acknowledgements and NOA1s faster than others, even from the same service center. Anyone know why that is?

I don't understand why in the world VSC is SO fast and CSC is EXTREMLY slow!!!!!! It's driving me up the walls..........why that difference??
It's not like ppl that have filed under CSC have more time, patience or what ever.We want to be reunited with our loved ones too!
Yeah this is more or less a rant but Gee come on now.
There's so many October Filers under VSC that have gotten their checks cashed and their NoA 1's issued while we don't hear a thing.Gee not even the ones that filed on the 1st under CSC have heared anything so far. Some ppl have filed 6 weeks ago under CSC and STILL no cashed check or NoA1!
Why did they get VSC 200 new staff members and CSC ain't getting NONE?!
NOT FAIR! Not to their staff in Laguna Niguel and definitley NOT to the custmoers!
Sorry had to say that!

Are you stoned or something?? do a timeline search and compare VSC to CSC. Since the 1st of October there have been 28 approvals from California and only 6 from Vermont. A little math will show you why Vermont needs these 200 extra workers. I wouldn't be so mad if I were you. You've got a long way to go still and it could be worse, ....you could be waiting for Vermont. stay calm. And expect to wait at least 4-5 months for an approval. Good luck!
