A few days ago I had posted a topic asking about information on required vaccinations for CR-1 Visa applicants in Pakistan.

Well I spoke to the actual Immigration Doc at Agha Khan about this and here is what I found out:

IT IS MANDATORY FOR CR-1 VISA APPLICANTS FROM PAKISTAN TO GET ALL OF THE VACCINATIONS GIVEN BELOW:

Mumps
Measles
Rubella
Polio
Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
Pertussis
Influenza type B
Hepatitis B
Varicella
Pneumococcal

All of these vaccinations are to be taken from AKU and you are suppose to take these records to your medical exam.

On some sites you may read that these vaccinations are according to the age and are not applicable to everyone, but in Pakistan there is no such thing. You have to get them ALL . Especially Hepatitis B.

My advice is that start working on them as soon as your spouse files for I-130 as the durations of some these vaccinations courses are for 4-6 months.

Some are age specific, and the doctor has the right to determine which are appropriate for the immigrant by age group.

For most the only ones needed on the list are.

Mumps, Measles, Rubella (MMR)
Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
Varicella

HEP B is fine, I as an American got vaccinated before going to Asia on a trip.

I know what you are saying and thats what I thought too.

But this is what the doc assigned to do the medical exam for the embassy told me! Thats why I mentioned before that this RULE is for PAKISTAN only. I doubt that people elsewhere have to get them like us.

Hep B is a vaccine of 3 doses. First two doses are taken one month apart and the final third booster is taken 4-5 months later. So its better to start off with the vaccinations soon after your spouse files for the I-130 as its a lengthy process.
