i'm new here
but my i-130 petition for my wife was approved and sent to the nvc

how long before the nvc sends me a case # ?
how long before these packages and bills get sent out from the nvc ?
once i get the forms and bills sent back how long before they complete the case and send it to the embassy in Manila,Philippines?

were both wanting to be able to be with each other and not be apart were hoping we can be together for the Christmas holiday

Get yourself familiar with the NVC Flowchart for CR1/ IR1 and James Shortcut v2.0 Most of your questions will be answered on those two links.

Unfortunately, your case based from other VJers who has CR1/ IR1 took at least 2- 2/12 months with NVC (without an RFE and has used James Shortcut), and would have to wait at least 6 weeks for their interview. So looking at your timeline, it will be approximately late January to early February.

Good luck! good.gif

ok got my case # called the automated line listed in the links provided says it entered into nvc on 9-27-2007

but it didn't say anything about the I-864(aos) bill yet

it just says allow 6 to 8 weeks for beneficiary to be notified.

See my previous comments, it will help you greatly. Also, you might also want to keep this handy NVC Automated Messages

If this is a spouse of U.S. citizen-based and the marriage is less than two years old, then CR1 is the proper category. Otherwise it is IR1 for spouse of U.S. citizen.

From just having a quick look at my timeline, from NVC receiving the case to "nearly complete" yet still no visa.. 6 months PLUS..

Give it about 3-4 months for you to be at the NVC. But if you follow James' shortcuts closer, it might take less than that.

You can take a look at my timeline since we are both USEM as consulate. I used James Shortcut from the start. good.gif
