My husband is extremely homesick and we're hoping he can make it home before Xmas. For those of you who have applied for/recieved your AP, could you please answer the following questions?

1. Is there a chance to recieve AP before EAD and Greencard? Or does it come with EAD?

2. Is there a possibility that it will come before the interview?

3. What does it consist of - is it a card, a letter, a passport stamp? What exactly does it look like?

It takes at least 3 months for the AP from when you filed. For most, it takes 4+. Since you filed right before the fee increase and USCIS experienced high volume at that time, a lot of things are taking longer than usual.

Will he make it home before christmas? Maybe! You can hope. But there is really nothing you can do to make sure that happens. There is a decent chance he will get his AP before xmas but you just never know. Most of us have learned never to plan anything until you have a document in hand.

Usually it comes before the interview and usually after the EAD.

It looks like a letter with your husband's picture on it. I got two of them in the mail. Basically just says you are authorized to travel while you have an immigrant petition active.

The AP is supposed to be issued at around 90 days.

If you have travel plans, contact your elected reps and they can influence the issuance of that document.

The AP is a letter (2 copies), you need it to reenter the US. When you return they will stamp and return one copy to you for future use.

Yippee! Our AP was approved today! Hoepfully EAD will be fast behind it!
