Hey fellow UK posters,

So I am on cloud 9 that I am getting a chance to go back to london to see my man for a few days. I was not expecting to go until thanksgiving and now get to go next week!! I was reading a post on another thread about someone who was denied entry (to the US mind you, not the UK) for visiting too often and too long (granted he was here off and on for a total of 12 months out of 15 and I only go for a few weeks at a time). I know that entering the UK is not nearly as strict as the US and so far I have not had so much as a second glance from UK customs even though I state that I am there to visit my fiance, but I do go over there every month. has anyone ever had any problems visiting the UK after several visits? I have been there every month from april to august for anywhere from one to three weeks. should I bring any documentation this time? how often do you all visit your fiances during the horrible visa waiting process? thanks for your replies!

My hubby has only been able to afford to visit me once here. He answered honestly that he was here to visit his wife and they let him through without any issues. Unfortunately I can't really comment on visiting "too often" but, bring proof of ties to home (letter from work, proof of owning a home etc etc). It's better to have too much information and not need it, than no information and get turned away.

More than anything else, I would suggest taking your visa application information with you (NOA1 etc). As I mentioned in another thread, the fact you are applying for your fiance to immigrate to the States is the biggest proof that you are not intending to stay permanently in the UK smile.gif

You should be allowed six months out of every 12 months, which it seems like you have not reached yet. If you have a job in the US and a letter from your employer about your return on a certain date, that should prove to be some of the strongest evidence. Also, like C and J said, copies of stuff related to his immigration to the US is good. Plus your return ticket. With all of that, I don't see how you have anything to worry about. smile.gif

I was in England last year for 10 months and I left 3 times. I never once had a problem. I always brought the visa stuff with me to show that Neil was coming to the US. I had an immigration officer in London ask me a few extra questions the first time when I was staying for 5 months but nothing too intense. He just wrote a number in my passport and the other two times I was there they just looked it up and then put me right on through.

My (now) USC wife was visiting the UK around 5/6 times a year....... we did a lot of extended weekends. Near the end of these frequent visits, the officials at Heathrow were getting a bit suspicious that she had visited her fiance so many times - and seemed concerned that she may not leave once they'd let her in. They seemed to like her explaining that in fact we had paperwork processing with the US goverment to have me (as the UKC) move to the US. They didn't ask her to provide it, but I can only imagine that having proof of arrangements to leave the UK (eg. return flight details) could only help.

Doesn't sound to me that you have anyting to worry about....... have fun in the UK!

Shortly before we got married Chelsea got quite a stiff talking to for the amount of times she had entered the country and was advised that she had to have a VISA the next time (we applied for the UK marraige VISA and that was that sorted)

My then fiance visited me several times for a week or two each time. On about his third visit he was grilled quite extensively. He was honest and said he was visiting his fiancee. They asked him all sorts of questions about me, where I lived and worked and he was becoming quite concerned. Then the guy said 'and what are your intentions?' Al replied that we were getting the visa for me to go and marry him and live in the USA. At that, he said 'oh ok, enjoy your stay'.

I wouldn't worry too much!
