If you have the time- do a dry run to the Consulate. See how long it takes to get there and that way you know exactly where it is.

$5 or so is better than $25-40 (or whatever a cab would end up costing!)

I took a cab to my interview in Vancouver even though it was only a 10 minute walk.
True... I don't really like the idea of having my paperwork around with me for too long either... hmmm...
