Its been close to 9 months already and I still have not found a job yet wacko.gif . Its a frustrating situation to be in especially if you have never been out of a job in your "previous" life back home or if you had a great job you gave up to come here! Anyway for all its worth, Ive tried to look into some work at home opportunities. I found one area of growth which is a call center agent working at home.

One of the biggest employers of work at home moms is West at Home. They just recently converted most of their independent contractors to employees and have been continuing to hire in some states.

I tried applying for this one and am now just waiting for a welcome email to start training. If you are computer literate, have a dsl connection and is willing to get yourself a telephone headset, this might be an area you may want to explore. Of course as in any job you will need to be authorized to work. However this is one job I found that did not discriminate against new immigrants, nor made much fuzz about your previous work experience. Everything is automated when you apply, from the application online to the telephone interview.

WEST AT HOME APPLY HERE

Right now due to the number of people applying, the system is slow but just keep trying!

If anyone is interested just PM me for tips on the interview etal. Id be happy to have someone else try it and we can be buddy employees good.gif

Hi Sunflowertami, im just curious, is that a sales job or something?
sunflowertami

Nope not a sales job (I explained further in my message to you) good.gif I just got the welcome email and am now employed! Now if I can purchase a headset and get the hours it should bring in some pocket money for the coming months! BTW for the new employees, they pay while you are training for the account!

Any other info you need, just PM me!

Some cordless phones have a jack for a headset and they aren't expensive. Just have the phone near your computer so you can leave it in the charging dock.
