Help My fiancee just received my documents for her interview and she says as stated in section J documents needed to bring to interview if applicable proof of prior divorce for you and you petitioner. I did'nt include that because it was included when I filed for the orginal K1 does she need to have this for her interview?

You have to be prepared to show originals of anything you includes in your original package, so yes, that includes your original divorce decree

She should have the original at the USEM interview. Plus CFO sometimes requires the original DC also.

I had to get the divorce final from the court with the court stamp on it and send it to Claudeth. We made copies and they certainly took them

my partner brought over the originals of his birth certificate and his divorce certificate when he visited recently, so we're set there... stupid question, but having to show originals of 'anything that was in the original package' doesn't include his passport, does it?

I tried to find the reference that says you don't need the original passport, but my Google skillz suck today. But I do remember reading that you don't need the original passport.

Why was his passport in the package?

there were copies of the pages of his passport that showed entry to the UK, and entry to third-party countries where we travelled together (to show proof of meeting in the last two years); of course the ORIGINAL passport wasn't in there

I was wondering if he used the passport to show citizenship.
I doubt they'll much be bothered.

no, as I mentioned above, he used his birth certificate for that, and I have the original of that one... I couldn't imagine them wanting the passport, but you never know with these guys!

Be prepared to show anything they ask for, even if they have it right in front of them.

hmm, that's not very helpful... I will have the originals of everything apart from the passport, and I intend NOT to get that unless I'm specifically told that I need it... my SO may well have to travel abroad for work round the time I'm having my interview; I can't imagine it would be a requirement to have it, but I asked the question on the off-chance that someone knew otherwise... if you do, please say so; otherwise, I think I'm sorted
