We received packet 3 today!

I have a couple of questions though. Sorry if these are simple and silly. On the checklist where it says he will be applying, do we check 'alone' or 'together with spouse and children'? We will all be going with him to the interview. But is this just talking about if we are applying as well or just if we'll be going with him? If it's only for applying, how do I correct that area. I already checked 'together...' and filled in the names of our kids. How do I correct that if I wasn't suppose to check that?

We've been trying to fill out the DS-230 even before getting the packet, but we weren't quite sure about where they ask for the schools he attended. Is that ALL schools, grade school through college? Or just college? And where it says 'location' for schools and for employers, can we just put a city? Or do they want the whole address?

And he wanted me to double check. I told him already, but he want to be sure. Where it asks for places he's lived, they just want the city right? It actually says 'city or town' but he wants to be sure they don't want the whole address with it.

And finally, on part II, #30e, what does that mean? It says an alien who seeks to enter for the purpose of performing skilled or unskilled labor who has not been certified by the Secretary of Labor. He is a millwright and will be doing that, but I'm assuming this means something else?

Thanks!

Hi Daisylynn,

I don't know the answer to your first question, however for the others:

For schools we put Name of School, City, Country. We put all schools from grade school right through.

For places he has lived we put town/city and Country.

For 30e - they are asking if he is going to work in a profession where he does not have the qualifications/certifications required by the Secretary of Labor (ie: will he be working illegally in that profession).

Hope this helps.

He's applying alone even though you'll attend the interview with him. I wrote a note next to that line saying "USC spouse will be accompanying me to the embassy on day of the interview" - probably totally not needed, but it made me feel better!

EDIT - Oh, I just re-read your question. I don't know how you go about correcting it. If I were you, I would try to contact the embassy about it.

Thanks trailmix!-That clarified a lot for me!!

Thanks Margot!-That's what I was afraid of, that I impulsively checked the wrong one without thinking it through. Grrr, now to get up with them about it. Does anyone know what number to call for that??
