I am US citizen going to India to get married to Indian citizen. I wanted to submit I-130 with USCIS office in Delhi consulate (i.e. I wanted to do "DCF" in Delhi). How much continous stay is required by me (US Citizen) to prove my "residency" in India? I looked at the Delhi Embassy website but it doesn't mention length of time that is required for me to prove my "residency".

I am a newbie to this process so please, my fellow VisaJourney citizens, enlighten me with your knowledge helpsmilie.gif

It used to be 60days but they have stopped that process now, u have to be residing in india for atleast 2 yrs to apply for I 130 directly in the consulate.

The global standard is now a minimum of 6 mos. I believe the consulates have the discretion to increase that time frame...
