I just thought I would share my story with all of you. My grandmother passed away on the 29th (on my husband and my 3rd year anniversary). So I went to the DO in Orlando on the 30th to get an emergency AP since mine was expiring in a few days, even though I did not have an Infopass appointment. I got to the office at 7:30 (right when it opened). I told the security guard my problem and he just asked me if I had evidence and I told him yes and that was it, I was in. When I got in to the reception desk she asked for my evidence and showed an immigration officer. She told me that they would approve the emergency AP but I would have to pick it up the next day. I begged her as I had already paid the fee for the regular filing and I had my pictures ready. She said she couldnt promise me anything and that she doubted it would be ready that day. My flight was leaving the next morning (Friday) as the funeral was on Saturday. I left the office not expecting anything, of course I was devastated. At around 3 p.m. a different lady called me and told me that everything was ready and she was just waiting for the immigration officer to sign it but that it wouldnt be ready until the next morning because he was on a call. I once again pleaded with her and she told me she would call me back. 15 mins later she called me back and said that she got him to sign it and interuppted his call and that I could pick it up right away. I thanked her so much. When I got to the office it was closed but they allowed me to come in and the immigration officer was very nice and offered his condolences. My experience with this office started off not so great but ended amazing. I was able to stay with my family a longer time in Canada and didn't have to worry about that. Just thought I would share this story with anyone that might have to go through this and hope you have a great experience as well. smile.gif

Very sorry for your loss, but I'm glad you stuck to your guns, and I'm glad they helped you out. Nice to see some USCIS employees can step up when the situation calls for it. smile.gif rose.gif M.
