Yesterday I got a letter from VSC saying that my case is being forwarded to the local office to await an interview schedule date. Just wanted to know how long it usually takes to get an interview date? My local office in Boston...Also if anyone has I-751 interview experiences please share.
My time line : we sent our package on 03/01/2007, NOA date - 03/13/2007, biometrics - 04/04/07, "touched" - 04/11/07, 09/22/07 - got a letter that my case sent to local office for an interview (dated 09/18/07)..now waiting to hear about interview date unsure.gif

i got a question,...does it have anything to do with where your from? where are you from if i might ask?...also with what evidence did you give??? can you put a list up for us on that.

Maybe its a "random" thing that they are doing for quality control purposes.

That is rather odd, do you think anything in your I 751 packed may have led to this?

Did you have an interview for AOS? I was looking at the Immigration Timelines link and none of the entries show an interview date.
eau_xplain
Your interview is probably because of (random) quality control procedure. Hope you get your schedule soon.

And I'm sure you are too!! laughing.gif

Looks like you sent more than sufficient evidence. As I thought, you're among the lucky ones picked for the random sampling for QC purposes. smile.gif

It should be an easy interview.

I got the same letter advising to await interview and had sent in even more evidence than you. I was really miffed! However, turns out someone further down the line decided that an interview was not necessary after all, and although we waited longer than some at our service center we ended up being approved without interview.

I don't think either way you will have any problems as you obviously have sufficient evidence of joint lives. Maybe the Supervisor will decide when they review your file that you don't need one after all like they did with us.

Good luck,

here is a long list of separate interview questions: http://www.immihelp.com/greencard/familyba...-interview.html

who knows how far they will go in their quality control?

I hope in the long run you won't have to go for an interview. Seems odd...that's a great list. Now I am worried...we have almost the same exact timeline as you...filing with VSC!

Sounds like it's just the result of the service request you made back in January, and it tells you nothing more than "your case is still pending."

What a lot of people are unaware of is that an interview is the default result of filing an I-751. That is, the federal statute and the CIS regulations implementing that statute actually require that the non-citizen spouse and the citizen spouse appear for an interview. The regulations, however, grant the service center directors the discretion to waive the interview requirement, which is what happens in by far the vast majority of cases.

So when you see that language about CIS not having scheduled you for an interview, it's only referring to that "default" posture of an I-751 petition -- it doesn't mean you're going to be interviewed.
danutuke
Thank you for your help smile.gif

We are planning vacation in May and I will be out of country in June so if the interview is coming- the timing is not the best. Anyway we will see...

Thanks

I don't think that's true. What's your source?

that stinks. I've been waiting for an interview date 4 months and still nothing. My sister was approved without interview, which proves we had sufficient evidence, but somehow not me. I'm going for an infopass appointment on Friday.

The questions on this site are a hoot!! I printed them out and took them to work and showed my female friends, they all just snorted and laughed and said their husband's would get over half wrong, and their husbands are usc's. I asked MY husband some of them like, 'what color are the curtains in the bedroom'? And he goes, wait let me go look... whistling.gif He's lived here going on 4 years now and we've never moved or redecorated, men just don't pay attention to these things. And my birthday was just this past Oct. I have no rememberance of what he got me if anything. We just aren't big on these kinds of things. Some of these questions might be good indicators but I find them ridiculous, and some were even offensive! Instead of calling US for an interview, I think they should come visit us and they can just ask the neighbors about us. Well, we've not even been called for an interview, so I guess I'll get off my soap box now.... tongue.gif

Hey Vouge. You have been waiting 13 months for an interview date or just in general to get a green card? Because I've been waiting 4 months for an interview after I received a letter saying to wait for interview date. Even tho they said I'm going to have an interview, but I can turn out that I'm not going to, they could just seen a green card?

That is interesting information. Thanks, James.

We recently went to our USCIS DO in Newark for a I-551 stamp in my wifes passport. The Infopass guy took her expired green card AND verbally told us we'd be interviewed at Newark in the next six months. Do you think he was just referring to the "default posture" or should does he know something about our case that we don't?
