I recently posted this topic and got a lot of good responces: Wait here or not here?

I'm wondering if anyone can help me again.
We need to move the interview from Canada to Ireland. We have called the NVC and got ahold a several people, all gave us different answers. Our lawyers are now handling the case but I'm not sure if I trust them to do it correctly.

For Canada/Montreal, the NVC handles the collecting and reviewing of all the paper work (Marriage licence/Birth cert/Police Clearence) etc..
For Ireland it would seem they do things different and collect and review all of the paperwork themselves.

The NVC already completed our case and put us in the Montreal interview waiting list (Montreal say I cannot have the interview there because im not Canadian).
Will the embassy in Ireland treat this a new case, effectivly starting the whole process all over again. (We started November 06).
I called Ireland, they said I would need to send over our package personally, they would not accept it from the NVC.
Our lawyer says our package is in Montreal and they can just send it over.
NVC say they have our package and they'll transfer it and let me know of the interview date (Ireland schedules their own interviews).

I'm so confused I don't know what to do?

MTL is an appointment post only. That means that the documents are only sent to MTL from the NVC when an interview is imminent. The NVC can send the file to Dublin. Just send them a letter asking for a transfer. The only thing that you may have a problem with is the physical. You must have it done in Ireland. With the delay at the MTL consulate, it looks like you have lucked out. What more do you expect for a daughter of Erin?

I'm just hoping Dublin wont treat this as a new case and want to review eveything themselves. The NVC said we will be informed of an interview date by the NVC. But Dublin schedules their own appointments, so not sure whats up with that. This maybe a special case as the NVC admitted fault in putting us in the Montreal interview waiting list when we couldnt have it there. My lawyer was surprised when I told them I can't have it here. Lucky I found this site or we could have sat around until march, gone to Montreal and then be told 'sorry you have to go home to do this!'

Just to add:

It looks like alot of embassys around the world are now changing so that the NVC does handle the paperwork for IR/CR1 visas. NVC told me Dublin is changing Oct 1st. Hope this change doesnt mess anything up.
