Just curious as to the reasons someone wold be put on AP? Let's say your husband or wife lived in another country for an extended time would that be a red flag for AP? If there is anyone that can offer any information on that it will be greatly appreciated? Like I said I was just curious and wanted to know what to look for in the future.
That depends on the country the SO lived in, if political ties with the US are friendly or not.
AP can happen for many reasons.
The CO feels something is off somewhere and wants a closer review.
The CO got up on the wrong side of the bed and is in a bad mood...( couldn't resist that one ).
The petition has conflicting or confusing aspects.
The birth certificate may be ' late registered ' in a high fraud country.
Background checks and home investigations are done randomly in some countries.
Routine security checks, document verification with the National Registrar.
I have recently found info that DNA testing has been implemented in some 3. countries and this pilot program if successful
will be used more widely to establish visa eligibility in some countries.
We are the current guinea pigs.
Having been in AP for 9 months you think they would have informed us about the DNA long ago and it would have been done by now.
But nooooooo, they waited and waited and now due to post election violence my fiance's daughter is unable to get the passport needed to travel to another country to take the 1 min test.
OK I am on a rant but you see how there are lots of reasons to end up in AP.

there are dna tests by mail.maybe she can take the test in front of a consul ora us certified physician ad they can sign affadavits...there are dna tests my mail and you can get a third party auditor

Dakar embassy does not allow anyone else except their own panel physicians, a choice of 3 located in Dakar only.
