Looks like we hit basically even today. Great news for Canadians moving to the US, not so great for us visiting Canada down the road.

Yeah I opened a U.S. dollar account with the TD today, still have to go in to the branch and sign papers.

Although I think I should probably call around all the banks tomorrow and see who will give me the best rate, I want to have an account available to transfer to if the dollar goes higher.

When I came here in 2004, I brought my Canadian money from the sale of my house with me..... needless to say, I'm a little touchy on the subject of CDN vs US dollar amounts now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did the same, I think I turned 200 Canadian into about 170 USD! Oh well, there goes 30 K I wont ever see again probably. I just hope its not 1.40 when / if we move back.

I checked the amount to transfer USD to CAD (using Customhouse) and it came out to less in Canadian .. oh my goodness!!!

I'm debating whether I should transfer a big chunk Cdn > USD tomorrow or wait to see if it goes up so I can make a profit (finally).

Got me wondering too. Maybe I'll wait till I get the Centura account up and going. Suppose to have the stuff this week, whatever. Only been a month now.

Me too!! I so want to take advantage of this for AOS if I can, while I can, before it changes!! Unless of course the CDN dollar goes even higher somehow... lol

It will into November. USD may rally a bit then.

I might consider throwing some money into Bee's account, since I'm probably not going to go with Centura now... though, if it goes up higher, waiting might be a good thing.
