I'm just hoping that they'll have dealt with some of the huge July backlog by the time they get my application in October... what did they think - that people wouldn't want to hurry and get their applications in before 100%+ fee increase if they possibly could?! Idiot bureaucrats...

Anyway, my time is coming.

Here's the Evidence I can think of right now...

- lease for our apartment with both names on it
- voided check with both names on the address slot
- latest bank statement from our joint savings/checking account (does it matter that the amount in the account is very small?)
- a couple of club newsletters addressed to both of us (should I send a copy of the page in the first one that has our names on the 'Welcome to new members' list?).
- affidavit from our church elder to say we're members (we have to ask him to write it for us, but I wouldn't expect him to object.)
- copies of a few pages from our scrapbooks
- copy of my non-driver state ID.
- copy of my conditional greencard.

What else do we need?

Our medical insurance only has DH's name on the card even though it's for both of us sad.gif so there's not much point in sending a copy of that...
The car is in DH's name because I don't drive...

Copy of US Citizen's driver's license to show living at same address.

Copy of life insurance showing beneficiaries, utility bills, phone bills showing both names, Christmas cards, vacation pics showing being together.

The list is endless.

Don't forget tax transcripts for all the years that you've filed jointly (if you did).

If you have joint credit cards, photocopy the actual cards to show the same account number under both your names.

You should be able to get something from hubby's employer or the insurance company showing you are insured under the policy. You would have to be listed with them to be covered... good.gif

Copy of life insurance showing beneficiaries - don't have any. No wills either, before you suggest that. Since there's no kids or other dependants besides me, we don't need them.
utility bills - all in DH's name. He makes the money and pays the bills, not me...
phone bills showing both names - in DH's name (even though we both have a handset.)
Christmas cards - didn't keep the envelopes & anyone can write a card anyway!
vacation pics showing being together.

The list is endless.

It doesn't matter if you don't have any letters or cards that being sent addressed to both of you, I didn't have any of them too when I filed but have no problem with my application.

Don't forget to send some pictures of you together too since you met up to the recent ones!
Your Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate of your child born on this marriage.

Good luck!
