Ok now things are finally getting closer to completion I've thought of a couple of questions.!!

Social security number, do I have to apply for this or does it come with the green card after I've entered the US, if not when can I apply?

Driving license, do I need my green card to to get my learners permit and/or my social security number (Can't believe I have to become a learner driver again and for 60days!!!) mad.gif

Green card, that takes about 4 weeks after entering the USA I think do I need to do anything or is it automatically sent?

Anyone taken a pet with them when they've gone to the US, do I need to let the airport know I'm bringing a pet.

These may have already been answered but I've spent the last hour going through forum posts and not found what I'm looking for yet!!

Thanks for any help

Andreas

If you are arriving on CR(IR)1 visa then:

SSN will depend on how you marked the question on the DS-230 Part II.

Greencard will be automatically generated

If arriving on K-3 then answers are very different....

Driving license requirements vary greatly by state of residence

Ahh all the looking on the forum and I hadn't checked the form I have at home!! I see the question now on the DS-230 form thanks!
