I want to start a tread for the August/Sept 07 I-130 filers.

End of July 07 USCIS decided to streamline their process and in the process it looks like we, the August/September filers will be the first ones to benefit or probably more truthful and realistic, probably suffer, during these changes.

Sent I 130 on Sept 4th to VSC. Waiting. for NOA1 Waiting. Waiting. According to timeline VSC it should be about 10 days to NOA1. Let's see.

Share your experience here. This way we can find whether they are better or worse. As of today, they are trending negative.

We'll see. Stand by.

I sent my I-130 on August 8 to TSC and have received nothing. Waiting. It is horrible. Everyday I hope something will happen.

I haven't even had my check cashed or gotten a lousy reciept. (Just post office confimation that it got there 6 weeks ago and is gathering dust.)

I won't consider my obscenely long wait as BEGINING until I get word I am at least in the system.

I sent I-130 on 8-18 they received it on 8-20 (confirmed with USPost)
I sent it to Nebraska
Nothing received yet
money order has not been cashed
Cash
I-130 at Mesquite TX post office on 9/8. Check hasn't been cashed yet. From what I've read, I-130 will be forwarded from TSC to CSC. With fees doubling, I was expecting processing time to reduce by half!
WWW
Hi everybody.

I've filled my I-130 for my 2.5 year child on 09/07/2007 and it has been delivered to TCS on 09/09/2007. Did not get anything yet from USCIS.

USCIS Application and Receipting Update

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) advises customers that, due to a tremendous increase in the number of applications filed, processing of fee payments and entry of cases into our tracking system is behind schedule. As a result, applicants can expect notices of receipt to be delayed. USCIS is working hard to deal with the increased volume.

Delay in fee processing and data entry will not affect an applicant's Change of Status or Extension of Stay eligibility if all other eligibility requirements are met. USCIS continues to process Premium Processing Service requests within 15 days.

USCIS will honor the actual date that an application was received in our mailroom; this date will be indicated on the receipt (in the Received Date box) when Form I-797, Notice of Action, is mailed. Until this situation is resolved, USCIS will provide these weekly updates on progress in issuing receipt notices to our customers. We appreciate your understanding.

As of September 21, 2007, USCIS has completed initial data entry and issued receipt notices for applications and petitions received on or before the dates indicated:

Hi everyone,

I sent my I-130 on August 30th with delivery comfirmation, they recieved in on September 4th according to my delivery confirmation slip returned to me. I still have not heard anything from them, they have not even cashed my money order yet. I am just waiting till they do so I can get proof that my I-130 is pending, than I can send my I-129f to chicago. I am not going to wait for the NOA1, I will print out proof of my case pending online and delivery comnfirmation slips and whatever they need for proof of the I-130 pending. If I wait for the NOA1 I am sure it will be another month or two, and I don't want to wait that long. I am missing my wife.

Don't worry too much! I sent my I-130 to TSC 20 days before you and I just got my NOA this week. I was crying everyday and was about to resend the whole thing. Your petition was most probably sent to CSC (mine was) so follow the processing dates for CSC--okay?
Elvis
hey can someone explain to me what is snail mail or however the people cal it?
an 2nd question
if the received my petiion ( I-130) in mail on 8-20- in nebraska what do you think when is it gonna be transfered to california
and also when they get it in california I guess they enter those petitions in the computer by the date they received it not by the date the Nebraska received

Receipt Delays

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) advises customers that, due to a tremendous increase in the number of applications filed, processing of fee payments and entry of cases into our tracking system is behind schedule. As a result, applicants can expect notices of receipt to be delayed. USCIS is working hard to deal with the increased volume and has published the following frequently asked questions in order to provide additional information to applicants.

What is the cause of the receipt delay?
How does a receipt delay affect my case?
Is this why I haven't received my receipt notice?
Is USCIS prioritizing certain application(s) during the receipting process?
What will USCIS do to ensure employment authorization documents are processed within 90 days?
How is USCIS planning to address this receipting delay?
If I filed before the new fee change and my application is rejected, do I need to pay the new higher fee?
How do I find out if my application is a part of the receipting delay?
Will this affect my ability to travel?

not a sniff of action from the crew of incompetent at the Vermont center.

I'm wondering if I will get a measly piece of garbage reciept before 2008.

Wish I would have sent to another center, those stoner vermont idiots are probably busy listening to Phish and looking to the lock ness monster in their lakes.

odeoaldorf
ahhhhhhhhhhhh, this is getting simply stupid...all the other centers are on their way past July with the ppwk and VSC hasn't moved in weeks...GOD!!!...How can VSC be helping other centers when they can't get their act together. I'm hoping that the next update will be a spike to at least middle of august for the 130. Its incredible. All we can do is wait...wait...wait while our lives waste away...ahhhhhhh...
odeoaldorf
VSC is moving slower than a sloath...why are they behind and helping other centers...I get it time sensitive stuff...so let VSC catch up first...ha, did I say catch up...do they ever catch up?...Do they even care?...I don't know...I have a private job and I don't care about it half the time, why would they care, they work for the gov, no one's going to get fired the next time the interest rates go to high...anyway...c'mon VSC...pick it up...you got families and lives in your hands...Its not the US Mail...its real peoples' live you are destroying...

Nope nothing whatsoever!!!! I hate VSC!!! I can't believe that nothing has happened again. Another week and no news. blink.gif I am just as frustrated as the others who were forced to send their petition to Vermont. I have no idea what they're doing up there and what they're working on but on the update last week it said it could take up to 15 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) weeks now to receive a NOA1 for I-130. It seems as if spouses are no longer important and they're dealing with everyone else before they start working on the I-130s again.

EDIT: I just checked the receipt and update USCIS page: and as of 10/19/07 VSC is working on 07/29 (something new for a change) and also nothing new on the California front. They're working on 08/30 just as the last weeks. So, here we go again. Another week of waiting to see if something happens!
sharif
They have 90 days from the time they receive the I-130 in their mailroom. So I believe VSC will use up all the 90 day and won't process new applications unitll the end of this month.

Hello All,

I am fellow August I-130 Filer and totally disguted with the VSC. I cannot believe that VSC has not moved in WEEKS. It all comes down to money. They have prioritized current Employment based visas or future ones etc as they are the ones who currently or soon will bring in taxes/revenues for the government. Heck with spouses and other related categories.

It is a nice gesture to help other Centers but Charity beigns at home. VSC - Catch up yourselves before helping others.

I am not sure if I should just stop looking at updates, looking at the VJ website, and bank cleared checks. Maybe, laying low and not giving attention to any of this, at least I will not be frustrated and dissappointed every single day.

Take care all - skp

Germanchick2502
I know that they have up to 90 days to send a NOA1 BUT that does not mean in my opinion that they have the right to do so just because they seem not to be able to catch up with their work load. I agree with skp on this: it's nice that they help out the other centers but they have a job to do within their own region, too. The whole screw-up with the employment-based petitions and the raise of the fees collided with USCIS inability to plan ahead and foresee that an increase in fees will lead to more petitions therefore they would need more employees to deal with data management.

90 days all nice and well but all the people who filed at the beginning of August get nearer to that mark and if USCIS VSC doesn't catch up they will be hearing from a lot of representatives and senators because I don't think that the way they're handling it is right.

Biazo,

What Service center are you going through. Has your check at least been cancelled? 90 days of NO info is crazy. I just filed last week and I would hate to think I have to wait til mid January just to get some sort of info. I might just lose my mind then.
biazo
The strange thing is that we sent it to the Texas center (not to the vermonth like many other people who have the same problems). I think they`ve just lost it (coz according to the information on their site they are doing the end of august now) . The check was not cashed and not cancelled My husband will try to find out about it again today or tomorrow.

Wow that is crazy that the check is still not cashed. I think the TSC I-130's are transferred to CSC...is this correct? I hear that people are waiting a long time for NOA1's but the check is cashed long before they get the NoA1 in the mail so at least then you know the paperwork has been accepted. Not having a cashed check is just plain ludicrous. I hope you get info soon.
