I can't stop refreshing the online case status for my AOS. How do you people deal with this waiting and delay? I've been in the system since April and I feel like I have hit uscis.gov more than I take steps in a day.

What do you do to sort of calm your nerves with the wait? As this is the last step I've become obsessed. It doesn't help that I am stuck at home all day playing videogames and not contributing to our lives for about a year.

In another post someone told me to think you have to pay a dollar everytime you look......... I still look even though my case staus for hubby has not changed a bit since inception on 5/4/07. Good luck it is hard to stop the madness smile.gif

It is boring waiting for Work Authorization for sure.. How come your's is so tardy?

I don't have any good advise on this one as i was obsessive, but volenteering, getting to know your community and the area you live in. I know I took trips to the surrounding states on the weekend, blogging about what's going on, and taking up a new hobby.. Anything to get away from the USCIS Update site smile.gif

AFter NOA1 I checked it like a zillion times a day. Then I realized they weren't gonna go any faster no matter how many times I checked it. So now I just check once a day. Sometimes I even forget. I guess cause I know it's still a long road for us. How about exercising? Taking a long walk or something. I dunno.

I guess I was one of the odd ones. I only phoned NvC a few times and sent Mtl 1 email!

Yea I am not doing a K1, bit different. I can't call anyone to check or speed things up. I am at the mercy of the MSC, adjusting in the US.

Yea I do get out but still there's only so much a person can do. Especially for a year.

Well, there are worse habits, like compulsive masterbation. laughing.gif

Limit yourself to checking it once a day. Find something to occupy yourself. smile.gif

For me... I chain-smoked, whined to my husband, whined to my friends, cursed at the USCIS case status online... and organised, EVERYTHING. Interestingly enough, very time I reached that low where I was convinced nothing would change and I had better things to do with my time, I got updates, approvals, notices, etc.

Also, I would breeze through some of the more difficult cases online and be grateful that my case isn't complicated and that I was never going through a "difficult" consulate. After I got here on my K3, I concentrated on that at least my husband and I were together. I was very lucky at each stage though. My cases (K3 and AOS) both went incredibly fast compared to most people.

Spend this time organising all your documents and doing everything you can humanly do to prepare for the interview because there's a certain calm that comes when all of that is done, filed, organised, prepped, etc. That calm is that you've done all that you can do you know that you're not missing anything when the time comes to interview.

During the K-1/waiting for the interview process -- overtime, lots of it. Planning my wedding. Packing up my apartment.

During the AOS process -- I played a lot of WoW whistling.gif

Well, isn't Halo 3 coming out soon? wink.gif

I've got virtually everything I can prepared... taxes left that's it.

WoW is getting VERY tiring. Heh.

Talk about taking matters into your own hands, remind me not to shake your hand smile.gif
