Hi Everyone ...
I'm just trying to get a handle on the fees required for the K-1 visa.
I know the I-129f fee is $170.00 usd...
But what other fees are due? What about at interview time, is there a visa fee due then?
Lastly is this fee based per-person? My fiance wants to bring his teenage son with him. I'd read that
this can be done if the child is included on the initial application.
Thanks for the support
I believe that the only other fee is $100 at the time of the interview. I wouldn't be surprised if you ended up paying 2 $100 fees for each person ( since its for visa processing). I also wanted to let you know from family and friends experience that when a child is involved there are other issues that may come up. At the interview, They may ask your fiance to prove paternity through a DNA test and the embassy has their own recommended labs to do this ( if they require you to do that) and sometimes they ask for proof of parental consent tfrom the other parent. Good luck with everything.

If I'm not mistaken, my husband paid :
+ $150 for his medicals (including vaccinations)
+ $75 for fingerprints
+ $100 at the time of his visa interview
You may also add extras costs for: i.e. the passport (visa) pictures (2 for each applicant), DHL or Fedex shipping expenses, fees for Vital Records certificates (i.e. marriage and birth), notary certifications, photocopying, sometimes travel and accommodation expenses to and from the embassy (in our case the visa interview was in another country!!), telephone calls, etc. etc. All in all, the whole process added up to quite a bit of money, but we didn't have a choice anyway. As long as you make sure that everything is in order, things should go pretty smoothly. Hopefully!
Best of luck
