The appointment for my finacee and her daughter was September 4. I travelled to Warsaw to attend the interview as well. And I am glad I did. We went to the embassy on the 4th and waited a couple of hours to be called. We were told there was a problem and our case was probably going into AR. They asked us to pay for a full set of finger prints for my finacee. But just before I paid the lady came over and said never mind- they didn't have any prints to compare them with. Apparently there was some sort of identity question that was triggered. We were simply told to return tomorrow and they would decide what was going to happen to our case.
The next day we were really nervous. We waited until it was time for our number to be called, but our number was skipped. They went through all of the other numbers and we were called last. When we went to the window the woman had a very serious look and I was sure our case would be rejected. But all she said was our paperwork is in order and we can pick up our visa after 3:00 that afternoon. I was in shock. I just stood there waiting for her to ask questions, but she said thanks and goodbye.
They were so focused on that identity issue they never asked us a single question, either day --- nothing. They didn't look at any of the documents we brought -- not one. As we walked out I kept expecting them to call us back to the window.
But it all worked out, and we travelled to Oregon on September 9th. We are getting married on September 29.
