Quick question: How do we know that august filers are getting their NOA2's from CSC already? I just did a timeline search and it says that no august filers have the NOA2's yet from the CSC. Are people not updating their timelines or what?

My guess is people are looking at the NOA1 date and not the date the SC received it. there have been 3 true august filers who have been approved at VSC, there are 36 July filers approved and of those some probably have an NOA1 date in August and that is what people are seeing and reporting August approvals. But like I said before, the only true Aug filers have been done at VSC and there are only 3 of them so far.

When you log into the USCIS website, it'll show your case number in one column, and a "last updated" date in the next column over. If that date changes, it's a day your file has been touched. It just means that someone either moved your file, went through it, or even scratched their back with. smile.gif

It's not neccessarily an indication of getting closer to approval. But, it is a good indicator for us getting ready to go crazy every time it changes. smile.gif

I think..."Touch" is the date that shows on your petition on the USCIS website as last updated...

Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it! I’m starting to go crazy about this stuff. I can’t believe immigration can cause too much of a heartache. They mess up my paper works the 1st time I submitted my I-129F K1 on Sept. 05, 2007 to Vermont Service Center. I submitted my petition to VSC because I live in Arkansas then the Vermont forwarded it to California Service Center then the California sent it back to me saying I sent it to the wrong service center. I sent my petition back to Vermont with letter asking Why they forwarded it to California yet I sent it for the first time in Vermont. All they can say is “Ooops! Sorry! We are only human! We are not perfect!”. Damn!!! I hate it!!!They never even change my receipt date. It supposed to me Sept. 06, 2007 not Sept. 25, 2007. Every day counts in immigration. But I feel little bit of comfort when I found this forum because I know I’m not the only in the same situation. Let’s give ourselves a support to each other. I hope nobody will do like the Virginia Tech murder because of the slow process in Immigration. Hahahahaha!! laughing.gif

Ack, that bites. Well at least you're in the system now, and it won't be too much longer before they get to September filers. Welcome!

I just figure that there is always that random person who is approved WAY earlier than everyone else....it hasn't been our personal experiernece as of yet, but usually someone is that lucky one. Heck, who knows, maybe the first one will get approved before the new year! Wouldn't that be great??

There are already 3 sept filiers approved from Vermont. They were approved about a month ago. Really PO'd a lot of people when it happened.
Bobalouie
And, I just checked the VSC thread and now we have an 8-24 filer who just got approved. Only took 115 days!
Norman and Dijani
Why did our application have to go to the CSC?!?! Vermont is closer to michigan anyway!!!!!!!!!!! crying.gif

At least one of them was a military expedite. Not sure about the others. It is exciting to see August filers starting to be approved though. When you consider that their numbers (and our numbers) are a fraction of July filers, it's cause to celebrate. Za nost!
Frank+Jocelyn
Our estimated adjudication date has moved up a few days in the past week. It is now February 27th. Its nice to see some movement. Now if I could just get them to touch me! tongue.gif
mox
I'm at CSC. Over the last couple weeks mine has moved further out by 4 days. I went from Feb 18 to Feb 22.

Looks like both service centers are moving pretty fast right now though. Let's hope they keep it that way!

Okay, I got to say that I am still confused about how people keep so up to date about who has been approved. Can someone let me know how they figure out the weekly totals? I saw it posted in another thread that someone checks the Timelines and then checks "Recent Approvals" for K-1...but I could not see anything called "Recent Approvals". What is the deal?
mox
Mo, click on Immigration Timelines at the top, and then "View K-1 Visas." Click on the arrow next to the NOA2 column to sort by the latest NOA2's received. That's how you can determine the latest NOA2's. If you want to only see specific service centers, go to the bototm of the page and choose the pulldown for service centers. For a correct total on CSC approvals make sure you look at Texas and Nebraska service centers too.

See, I dont like that one. I use the Immi timelines, then click on timeline search, then I put in my search criteria click the show all button and it shows me for the dates I selected. No fumbling around in that huge list see below:
mox
The problem with using that method is that you can't bookmark it. Once I have the view I want in the method I suggested, I just bookmark it and can pull it up instantly.
Norman and Dijani
Many thanks mox, I was wondering how you sorted through these crazy lists! Looks like we are getting quite a few August filers approved at CSC! Early August, but August none the less! LETS GO CSC!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mox
Actually I'm not seeing any August CSC approvals. There's a lot of approvals for those who received their NOA1's in August, but if you look at their sent date, they're July filers. There are some August approvals through VSC though. Come on Cally, let's knock the dust off those August boxes!
Norman and Dijani
That maybe true, but anywhere it says august makes me happy! Plus the july filers who got their NOA1 in the beginning of august usally sent their stuff at the end of July, which is nice as well! Just trying to look on the bright side!
mox
I'm all about the bright side! biggrin.gif
mox
Oh and not that I'm obsessively refreshing the timeline spreadsheet or anything, but I just saw the first real August approval pop up. Be ready to move out September filers, our day approaches! biggrin.gif

Thanks Mox for the clear explanation. That makes a lot more sense. but now I am wondering how you are able to see the actual sent date vs. the NOA1 date. I do not see that option (I am quite visual...and I just don't see it). So how do you know that the first "Actual August Filer" was approved? Thanks!
mox
Look at the column that says "I-129F Sent." It's the 5th column from the left. If you sorted by NOA2 date (most recent to least recent), you'll see that 6 rows down "Carina & Cameron" sent their I-129F on 8/27. You could also sort on "I-129F Sent" but that's a bit more cumbersome, you have to click through several pages.
Brian & Kathy
I was wondering if it was actually a military expediant. That's a very late august even. They'll be into a lot of august very soon though. biggrin.gif

My question is wouldnt it matter more when the recieved date on people's NOA1 was rather then when they sent their petition? If this is true then we are well into August. Maybe brightside again? I cant help it!
mox
Not really. I sent my petition on September 12, and it was received September 13. My NOA1 date (the date they issued the NOA1) is November 1. Some people put the NOA1 date for the NOA1 date, and some people put the received date as the NOA1 date. So we look at the sent date, because it's really the only consistent date we have.
Norman and Dijani
That does make sense
mox
And I just re-read my post and realize I said "date" about forty bajillion times. I have the vocabulary of a...of a...of...um...something that has a very limited vocabulary.
StillThePrettiest
a date, perhaps? tongue.gif

I did the same thing as you Mox. I originally had my NOA1 date in the timeline and changed it to my received date about a month ago.
mox
Thought I'd alleviate some of my waiting anxiety with some mini analysis, so here goes.

So far this week, 23 approvals, 16 of which are CSC. Not too shabby considering this should be a slow week, but instead we're roughly on course to meet last weeks totals, which were pretty danged good.

I'm a little disappointed CSC haven't dipped further into the August crates by now (still only one August approval for CSC), but it does seem that they're heading into the finish line with July with a full head of steam. I'll be surprised if we don't start seeing regular August approvals next week.

I'm still optimistic that January is going to be our month. The August and September filing base combined is half the size of all the July filers, and USCIS busted out most of July within about a month.

Hope this info makes your holidays happier!
bengalilover
Thanks Mox for encouragement. I filled on 8/15 with received date in NOA1 8/21. Hopefully, we will see the approval by the end of this year or early January.

bengalilover
Mox, I want to change my NOA1 date to 8/21. How do I do that?

Also, I saw the average time between NOA2 to filling is about 140 days. Range is 130-150 days. Based on that, I am expecing on 1/2/2008. I filled on 8/15
mox
Click on "Immigration Timelines" at the top of the page. Under "Timeline Functions" click "Add/Edit my entry." Enter your email address, edit your timeline, and press the "Submit" button at the bottom.

I'm SURE January is going to be your month smile.gif
Norman and Dijani
Here is to a January approval for ALL august and september filers!!!!!! What a nice late christmas present that would be eh? Maybe my estimatation of the end of march that I told my fiancee might be a reality!
