so weird that VSC has done those September filers (and I THINK even a couple from October), but hasn't started on July yet blink.gif

Weird, sure, but annoying is more like it IMO. I'm happy for petitions being approved, but I truly wish they'd practice what they preach - petitions will be processed in order received.

Agreed. Even if there are a few expedited for September, that doesn't account for a full 7. I'm ecstatic for those 7 people, but I'd love to know what's going on.

StillThePrettiest, I hope you get yours soon, but dangit you better not stop hanging out with us! smile.gif

Hi everyone. I still didn't receive my NOA1 but I found out that they cashed my check on September 24 and my application got there September 18. Is it a good sign that the check has been cashed? maybe my NOA1 got lost or something i'm thinking...

If they cashed your check, then you have NOA1. Do you have the cashed check in hand, or can you see it online at your bank? There is a receipt number on the back that you can track your petition status with.

Hey Guys-

Long time no write! I was out of the country visiting my fiance but am now back to the same old waiting game. Anyways, the weirdest thing happened. After about a week or no internet access I checked my online case status and found that my case had been Touched on the 15th. So that was kinda weird. Not quite sure what that was about. Just thought you all might be interested, especially if anyone else had a similar situation.

Take care and keep up the patience smile.gif

Welcome back Mo! I had a similar situation. Touched November 16th. I suspect our files were checked out to put under the break room table so it wouldn't wobble. smile.gif

If Western Union can provide a copy of the canceled money order, there will be a receipt number printed on the back. It'll start with "WAC" followed by 10 digits. That is your receipt number.

If you don't have access to the canceled money order, then you will need to call USCIS. They may tell you that you have to wait 90 days from when you filed before they will "investigate" your case. Unfortunately you're not alone in not receiving your hard copy NOA1. It seems to be more common than should be normal.

Here's a little morale booster for September filers: Looks like another August filer was approved. I think the current lot of September approvals was an anomaly. Seeing that they're starting to seep into August is pretty encouraging though.

I hear ya mox, I just hope VSC will start the seepage soon as well. But it is good news that they are picking up the pace after the backlog.

Good stuff to see some progress being made.

Just thought I would jump in on this thread - we filed around teh 20th September and our NOA! notice date is September 26.

Here's hoping things keep moving along at a decent pace.

Hi markjo, and welcome to the thread! smile.gif Yeah, things are really picking up. My timeline says to expect Feb 19, but I'm starting to be optimistic for mid to late January. Call me a dreamer. smile.gif
nica19
had some time to kill this afternoon and started looking at the number of I-129f's filed as recorded here on VJ. It looks like things began to pick up around March of this year and peaked in July, obviously, but if you look at Sept through now and assume that VJ is a good representation of the total number of applications that USCIS gets we are at about half of the average of before the onslaught. Call me optimistic but with the additional folks hired on at USCIS and the drop in applications right after the fee hike hopefully in the end we wont really see any increase in overall processing time. well thats just me being optimistic.

mox
We just need to get those dang July filers out of the way. Shoo! Git on outa here! smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

I do think VJ is a pretty representative sample of the overall USCIS filers. If it weren't, we'd see wide swings in the data and processing times. We don't see that, so I think it's a good indication that we're a good sample size.

The fact that USCIS are starting to really bust out the July filers gives me a lot of hope that things will really start picking up soon. If current trends hold, they should cut through the August filers like butter.
TheATeam
Yeah! Did you see all those recent July filers? AWESOME! I'm SUPER excited. I realized this morning that according to the timeline we only have three months left to wait until approval, that made me excited too!

We have been trying to wait patiently just like lots of folks here. Best of luck to everybody.

I know I'm setting myself up for a big disappointment, but with the major influx of approvals lately I'm starting to even think that mid to late January is feasible.
TheATeam
We've been thinking that the last week in February is feasible. I guess we'll see, but anything MORE than March and I'm going to have an issue! tongue.gif

Welcome to December, September filers!! How's everyone holding up? Seems like this month will be the "doldrums" for us Sept filers. Too far away to really hope for progress, but close enough that it seems just out of reach. Argh!!!!

I reckon you guys will start to see some action in January... that's NEXT MONTH biggrin.gif

Ah December... boo. I'm holding up by drowning my sorrows in egg nog and crazy coloured christmas-y cereal. smile.gif I've actually been making a list as to how to enjoy my possibly last Canadian christmas in awhile. So far, that list consists of stuff to buy and bring with me when I move. whistling.gif

I'm holding up alright, its driving my Fiancée crazy however. Everyday she asks me if there is any update.

Well thanks a lot StillThePrettiest, now you've got me all excited. And not just about your hawt unibrow! wink.gif Someone please give me a tranquilizer that'll put me out for the next 30 days.

@Daly: What could you possibly bring from Canada that we don't already have here? We have hockey now, you know! laughing.gif laughing.gif (sorry, just trying to live up to the dumb American stereotype...)

@ChrisC: I know what you mean. My SO doesn't really understand the process, and has pretty much left it in my hands. About all I can tell her right now is that the interview in Moscow will be in the spring. But she's starting to ask about firm dates so she can make plans. And dangit, we were planning on her staying with her friend in Moscow, but she had to up and get herself married and leave the city. And lodging in Moscow is crazy expensive. Pretty inconsiderate of her friend if you ask me. smile.gif

WEEEEELLLLL <grin> I for one, am feeling ON TOP OF THE MOON today... ahhh not for what you think (an NOA-2) would be just the most wonderful gift right now...

just wanted to share...

BUT - I JUST bought my wedding dress... WHOOO HOOOOOOOOO....
oh you must all go and look at it...
Davids Bridal, style VW9340
http://www.davidsbridal.com/search.jsp?sea...ch_query=VW9340

and the BEST thing is - I have had my heart set on this dress - and by accident came across someone selling it on EBAY (brand new, never worn) for LESS than half price including shipping, my size and all... so rang the lady selling it to ask a few questions - all on the up and up... so paid for it... and she was already boxing it up to send to me... (too funny though, she is sending it to me here in Australia, and she's in the USA - just in case I need to get any alterations done)... and it will arrive here around the same time as my DARLING USC fiance will arrive (as he's coming here for Xmas) <grin> could have had it shipped to him (but would have been too worried that he'd take a sneak peek) LOL...

So I am dancing around feeling pretty darn good about everything, and at the rate that our application is going - we are probably looking at an April interview and moving over there in May... so a late May/early June wedding which for this dress will be absolutely perfecto.... and for a second marriage, I don't think this dress is too "weddingish" or over the top - if you know what I mean... ??

have a GREAT day folks
Tracy

I'm very excited that it is December! Shortly after we filed, I bought tickets to visit my dear fiancee towards the end of december, knowing how very long the wait for NOA2 would be. It'll be exactly what we need. smile.gif

It sounds so good to hear everyone so positive! The christmas season must has gotten into into eveyrone....and on top of that I think we are all realizing that our turn is coming just around the corner. I know that for me I am not happy to spend another holiday season away from my fiance, and yet I have to believe that these weeks will pass quickly and soon enough we will be in January! That is definitely a blessing.

For those of you who get to visit your SO for the holidays...enjoy it! i will try not to be envious, esecially since I just got back from Chile a week ago.

And for those of you buying wedding dresses wink.gif that is awesome! How fun. I know that I was super excited the day that I bought my dresses and since then has decided no matter when this visa comes through we can get married--cause I already have the dress! haha

I'm thinking of hoarding crazy amounts of Shreddies, Clodhoppers, Rocky Mountain Soap products and some local homemade canuck stuffs. That's all that comes to mind so far. And no worries about the American stereotype; My USC keeps reminding me that canadian bacon is available there as well as indoor ice rinks for emergency re-Canadianize moments. biggrin.gif

Tracy, that dress is BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to buy a dress. Right at this moment though we're not sure we'll have a big wedding. It may just end up being a quick legal ceremony at the courthouse and then a celebration on our first anniversary or something like that.

OMG! Thinking about possibly getting approvals next month sounds SO amazing right now! My fiancee just left this evening and I'm so sad and tired, even though I know he'll be back up to visit me at Christmas time. (as much as he just LOVES Canadian winters! ~giggles~)

so sorry if I haven't been writing here that much (though I check out this forum everyday happy.gif )
its nice to know everybody's feeling POSITIVE! good good good! you guys make me happy smile.gif

I really wish that next month or until early feb we will get our NOA2. thinking about getting approvals by next month makes me so paranoid (in a good way hehe)

i envy you guys who will be with your beloved fiances this christmas sad.gif my dearest georgy can't be here with me in the Philippines coz he just visited last September for our anniversary. Oh well, at least next christmas we'll be togerther smile.gif

Hi Guys...
and A-Team & MOX ..... ooooh the dress is great isn't it... thankyou for saying so... (it has certainly cheered me up, was feeling "as we all do" a bit flat about this process) but now have a smile on my dial (AND NO... <GRIN> HE doesn't read these forums LOL)... I just hope I can look half as good as that gal modelling the dress, and take his breath away a bit on our wedding day...

now my 15 yr old daughter (and my 10 yr old daugther-to-be) are both wanting to know what I will have them wearing... <grin> they think because I managed to score my dress at half price that we now must have money to burn <grin>

I also must say just how I FEEL for all of you who won't be spending your Xmas with your loved ones this year... I am VERY fortunate that Steve is flying out here to have a good old "Aussie" xmas (a bit different than cold OHIO LOL)...

.... and seriously DECEMBER and early January (cause of the silly season) tends to "whip" by anyway, so before we know it we will be mid January, going into February....

and just think folks.... all of those experiences and wonderful special days from next year onwards we will always be with our loved one...

September filers will pretty much just have to get through Valentines Day crying.gif and then probably Easter, being that it is in March... BUT our interview dates SHOULD all start happening from late March through April & May.... my heart innocent.gif is set on a February interview date (UMMMMMM BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT IS NOT going to happen) <grin> So now I am honestly thinking with the speed up that we are seeing on the adjudications, that my kiddos and I will be at a late April interview up in Sydney, and then flying over their IMMEDIATELY afterwards... they can at least spend 2-3 weeks in school before Summer vacation to get to know some kids... and then I am thinking a May 24th Wedding... whistling.gif well that is the thought process right now (I will put a blank check box on our invites just in case) <grin>

FYI on some of the stats that I had done on another thread.

Filers for K-1 (all centres) 1st June through 30 September
as at the end November...

652 - k1 records filed between june/sept.
614 - have NOA-1
205 - have NOA-2

447 - waiting for NOA-2

15 - days average from filing to NOA-1
125 - days average from NOA-1 to NOA-2

11 - have interviews
80 - days average for those with interviews from NOA-2 to interview date.

SPECIFICALLY for September filers...

82 - k1 records for Sept. (all centres)
74 - with NOA-1
7 - with NOA - 2 (congratulations)
3 - with Interviews (double congratulations)

have a GREAT day folks
TRACY
LadyNoles
good.gif good.gif great I like the idea of getting our interview somewhere in march or early april as our wedding is set for may 3 th biggrin.gif:D:D ( we did specified that in our application just as a reminder loll....hopefully their memory will work well ) haha

I just spent thanksgiving with my sweet pie and will definitly spend christmas with him also ...YAY!!!

I didnt see your dress Tracy but im sure you will be breath taking that day wink.gif

So lets all keep our focus on good stuff coming for everybody and for those who believe in GOD...well lets pray that everything will go faster from now on.....

keep smiling!!!

Hi everyone! Since I've never received NOA1 I called USCIS today and they found me on their system and they told me I have a receit number starting with WAC... They said if I want another receipt(NOA1, since I never got one in the mail) to write them and they will sent me another one at home.Should I go ahead and write them?
Also with the WAC number I will check the status on the USCIS website?
Thanks!

You won't ever need your NOA1 notice for anything, so if you don't want to bother with it then don't worry. I'm a completest though, always feel like I need to have every scrap of paper. So if you're like me, go ahead and request it.

You can. Go here. You can just check the status online without creating an account, but it's easiest if you create an account and then add your receipt number to your portfolio.

Best of luck to you!

Now I have another question.. What does it mean when someone gets "TOUCHED" will that be showing on the account I made?

A touch just means the status date (and occasionally the status) has been changed. You won't see a running total of touches, nor even the word "touch." It usually just means your case file has moved from one desk to the next. Don't read too much into it.
