So, I had my interview yesterday.... and ALMOST there!

In Costa Rica they ask you to provide Single Certificates stating that you are single and free to marry, from anywhere you've lived since 16 years old. Similar to Police Certs.

Unfortunately my Costa Rican one has been held up, and wont be ready till March 26. Guess it's wedding season in CR? wink.gif

Nevertheless, the consul said everything else was perfect, and that if I had the paper, he would have given me the visa on the spot...bugger! So I have a 221(g) denial till I return the paper, and then the consul said they'll issue the visa straight away.

I posted a full review if anyone's interested smile.gif

Good Evening Sept’s filers

Finally, we have an interview’s date 4/25, and I will be there in 3 week to celebrate our engagement’s party “before an interview’s date”. The most things I’m worrying about at the interview. This is my second K1. Please share your opinions, so I can well prepare my case at the interview.

My previous fiancée and I did not work out. Therefore, I was dropped my K1 (Jan-2007) at the Consulate before they scheduled an interview for her. Here are the questions; I’d like to ask you all.

1. Should I let my current fiancée know about my previous one? (Such as, name, age, when, how we knew each other, when I filed and when I withdrew)

2. What should I prepare for an interview since I am there? I’ll bring all evidences; I mean everything about 5 inches thicker (papers).

Your info will help us a lot. Thanks for all your helps. Good luck to all of us.

Best regards,
mox

I think you probably should have let her know about your previous fiancee long before now, but to answer your specific question, yes. Absolutely. They will ask her about it. If there's a question they would conceivably ask her, you'd better let her know.

This is a really broad question. Did you look at your consulate's website to find out everything you need to bring? You need more than just the evidence...your consulate's website and your fiancee's packet 3 will have the information you need.

chuck_n_rose
Congrats to Eric and Mox and George n Aaiz for getting your interview dates. I will be leaving next Tuesday to Manila to join in on the wonderful interview experience (I've heard that it could be close to a paid admission Disneyland ride. For some reason, I think it is because of the long lines and wait). Hopefully, things are good for everyone.
Brian & Kathy
Wow, Congrats to all of you!

Realistically, we'll be lucky if we can get P3 by the end of May, allowing for an interview sometime in August. Most of you will have a visa in hand before our documents even get through chinese customs. sad.gif

In the Affidavit of Support form, question no.11..
what should we suppose to write in here?

11. I ___ intend ___do not intend

to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.
(If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions. For example, if you intend to furnishroom and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in U.S. dollars and state whether it is to be given in a lumpsum, weekly or monthly, and for how long.) ________________________________________________________________________________

I marked "do not intend" because I dont intend on giving my fiancee an "allowance" She will have access to our accounts and can get money when she needs to, and explained as such in the space below.

I think based on the "N/A" in the comments, it probably doesn't matter if you check it or not. And hopefully they can contextually see that it doesn't apply anyway, even if someone were to fill it in wrong. It's a confusing question that really should be re-worded so that it applies better to family visas.

I agree Mox. It is a question that is not really geared towards marriage based visas.

Have a great flight. I am glad you two are almost done with the wait and can be happy together. Let me know how the interview goes, and how the document verification turns out. Your experience will help me determine if I will go to the interview or not. The document verification worries me.

Since most of us are at the end of our wait you all should update your info on the September Filer's Wiki

Would anyone interested in a "August/September 2007 Filers" thread in the "Moving Here and Your New Life In America" forum? Jeraly started a July filers there thread, and it seems to be pretty popular. If there's any interest I'll start one, or someone else can, or whatever. smile.gif

NO! It would just be depressing as everyone comes together but those at slower embassy are still waiting. crying.gif

Actually, it would probably be interesting, but maybe a bit early for us still.

Yeah, I'm really sorry Guangzhou is so slow. sad.gif Hang in there though, at least it's not such an open-ended wait like CSC was.
Brian & Kathy
Mostly, I was kidding around, but it is hard to watch everyone else have interviews while we are stuck at a stand still. It's fine though. We'll deal with it, hopefully keeping busy during the wait.
