VSC got my NOA1 to me quick, I just hope that they pick up the pace a little on the approvals like the CSC is doing now!

Hello, hello! I think I count as as september filer. Originally sent August 3rd, received two returns (grrr!)
Resent on Aug 31st, cheque cashed on the Sept 15th and NOA1 received on the 18th.
Strangest thing is the letter states it was received and filed as of August 13th, but the online case check states September 13th. :S Either way though, it's received.
Let's all stay sane through this stressful process.

Hello Everyone,
Mailed in I-129F on Sep. 4, delivered to CSC on Sep. 6 (according to USPO tracking numbers). Check not cashed yet, nothing! Really envious of those who sent their packages to VSC, and got their NOA1 in a week. Really don't know what to expect now. Some guys have been waiting for more than two months for NOA1. Why such big discrepancy?

TWO returns, Daly?! what on earth happened?!
The first time, they said there was no cheque attached which I found hard to believe since Matt made a fuss checking to see if he had enough funds before mailing it off. He got an attached letter stating what amount to pay. So he sent it off again.
Second time, they sent it back that it didn't follow the new increase in fees which wasn't mentioned in the letter attached before. :S But, now it's just water under the bridge, but still... a month lost because of both returns. *sulk*

It's ok - it seems like a big deal at first but there is so much waiting involved that eventually you get to the point where it doesn't seem to matter anymore!!!
When I first mailed all my evidence to my OH it was the beginning of July. Two weeks later it still hadn't arrived. Then it turned up on my doorstep with a stamp on saying it was "undeliverable as addressed" (I was sending it to my OH who I have been mailing things to for years!) - at least I remembered to put on a return address!!! I re-addressed it (to humour USPS) and sent it again and it arrived a week later - but again, three weeks lost due to the crummy postal service

It does annoy me even now because those three weeks could have really helped as we have our wedding booked for 11th Feb!!! But at the end of the day like you say, it is all water under the bridge and we can't change anything - we just have to get on with things

PS - love looking through the threads and seeing the later filers with the little sigs - you get to the point where you hang out here so much you fiddle about with it and end up with some enormous monstrosity like mine ;D
Good luck guys and happy waiting!

Lol, I know what you mean. I want to plan stuff too, but I can't because I have no guarantees to get the visa by then. And then I think also "But that's ___ weeks more I have to spend without him!" ::resumes sulking::
Oh well, we'll all hang in there and cross our fingers.

Haha! Well at least you have the sense to hold off! We didn't realise how long the visa process was before we booked our wedding and even when we did, we didn't account for the mess due to changes in Service Centers and the fee increase!!!

Hey. Once your check gets cashed (keep checking your balance) get a copy of your check from the bank, and on the back of it will be a stamped reference number beginning with WAC (for CSC applicants). This is your personal case number and you can use it to trace the progress of your case via the USCIS website. This is what we did, and we got to find out the date of our NOA1 6 days before we got our hard copy in the mail.
Good luck.

Also, if you have online access to your bank account, once the USCIS has cashed your check your bank will scan a copy into the system, so you'll be able to click on an icon next to the item on the statement to see the copy of the back with the receipt number starting with WAC. then go to this website to register to check the staus online:

I’m not sure how fast CSC in California process. But, I did petition last year, it took about 1 week to get NOA1 and 2 months to get NOA2. My attorney sent a package to CSC on Aug21, 2006 and received NOA1 Aug 29, also received NOA2 on Nov 2, NVC sent package to my country on Nov 9.
I withdrew my case at US consulate in my country on Jan 2, 2007 (I could not find ‘Love and to be Loved’ from her). Sorry for my ESL. I guess I was lucky last time. I’m not sure about this time (without attorney).

FYI
USCIS Application and Receipting Update
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) advises customers that, due to a tremendous increase in the number of applications filed, processing of fee payments and entry of cases into our tracking system is behind schedule. As a result, applicants can expect notices of receipt to be delayed. USCIS is working hard to deal with the increased volume.
Delay in fee processing and data entry will not affect an applicant's Change of Status or Extension of Stay eligibility if all other eligibility requirements are met. USCIS continues to process Premium Processing Service requests within 15 days.
USCIS will honor the actual date that an application was received in our mailroom; this date will be indicated on the receipt (in the Received Date box) when Form I-797, Notice of Action, is mailed. Until this situation is resolved, USCIS will provide these weekly updates on progress in issuing receipt notices to our customers. We appreciate your understanding.
As of September 21, 2007, USCIS has completed initial data entry and issued receipt notices for applications and petitions received on or before the dates indicated:
