Hello everyone,

good.gif I sent our 129F in on May 19 2007

good.gif We got receipt on May 24th

whistling.gif Nothing happened

unsure.gif On July 5 2007 saw RFE on web site (I check USCIS web site everyday)

blink.gif I called on July 5 and was told I have to wait for letter to respond. (they told me what I needed over the phone but would not let me send info/respond until I received the actual letter...??)

wacko.gif The lettter finally arrived on July 11 2007

good.gif I complied with RFE and returned info on July 12 2007 via over night deliver(easy info my birth certificate, a small pic of me, and copy of my divorce decree)

good.gif They signed and received by 10AM on July 13

wacko.gif They updated web site to say:

"On July 16, 2007, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be donee received your info on July 16 2007 and we will notify you"

innocent.gif Today is the 60th days (well ok monday)

crying.gif I called yesterday September 13, spoke with an officer (very nice) but could only tell me that they are still processing maybe within the next 30 to 45 days (WHAAAAT?)

unsure.gif The officer went on to tell me that once our info leaves VT it has gone through it toughest scrutiny

wacko.gif Then it goes to NVC where it is pretty much passed on to Emabssy in Bogota (per the officer)

helpsmilie.gif What should I do to keep the process moving:
I read about "package 3" that comes from Embassy...should complete the forms ahead of time (when I started I completed many forms and just realized some are part of the "package 3")
Should I call again, if so when, or is there another number to call, because it said 60 days. Based on what I was told by the officer an additional 30 to 45 days aaaagh.
What should I do to be prepared for the next step...the US Marine Corp is still in me, can follow instruction just want to know what they are.

You can try calling again. Sometimes you get better information if you get someone else.

You could prepare any evidence that you need to provide to your fiancee. Including the affidavit of support. But the other forms don't take much time to prepare or are prepared in part at the interview.

Go to the Colombia forum on visa journey (right here) and check out various postings. There is already a ton of info on the sponsorship (I134) papers you need to send; the packet 3 and 4 that your finance needs to fill out etc. Good Luck

Your best next steps are to learn about the rest of the overseas process in the Foreign Embassy and Consulate Forum.
