my husband got the clearance from the local police station. His passport was issued 8 months ago.. so he will have to get a clearance there as well. what is the procedure for getting the passport clearance and how long does it take? also what documents should he take with him when he goes to chandigarh for the passport clearance. thanks.

In general they ask for your interview letter and the Passport. Fill a form from available online. That's it. Usually it takes 1 day to issue the PCC in most cities in south india.

Go to the passport office, fill out the form in the morning. You should get the clearance by the evening.
