Hi All;

I keep reading that one of the requirements for the affadavit of support is to include 3 years worth of tax returns/w-2's. I've just started work a few months back and my income is well above 125% of poverty. This year will be the first time I file for taxes since my highschool summer jobs (>6 yrs ago). Any suggestions on how to circumvent this problem? Thanks.

Take care y'all.

What country are we talking about, what is your timeline? Depending on country, the interview may happen after you file taxes next year.

Just past year is the minimum that most consulates look for, You can provide a note explaining why you have not filed returns these past few years, provide a letter from employer, and copies of pay stubs from a month or so leading up to the interview.

Lastly you can always use a co-sponsor, and then after your fiancee you can just sponsor your wife by your self when you adjust status.

Please update your profile to show country, and do a timeline. timeline.gif http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=37877

There's nothing on the actual I-134 document that says you need tax returns. Nowhere in my instructions for London Embassy did it ask for them. But the country you are going through may require it. I requested tax transcripts to send along 'just in case' because this issue was freaking me out.

Add a supplemental explaining your situation. Were you going to school, what is your profession so you can show long-term support. Anything you can provide good.gif
