guys its been a week since my case was forwarded to new delhi. i have the case number and everything but just received an email from new delhi that they don't have my case yet. how should i track my case? any other suggestions? thanks.

It probably takes them a while to get into their system. Be patient, it will happen

oh so does this mean i have to wait all these days before my husband goes and drops off his packet 3?
i am confused because i was told here at visajourney that i could go drop off my packet 3 as soon as I have my case number(which I do) but if they don't have me in their system then how does it all work. plz help

just looked at ur timeline.. ur case was there in a week according to ur timeline.

Your husband can't drop off packet 3 until the embassy received his files. Prior to that, they will turn him away.

it looks like i won't get an october interview. ahhh. hopefully they won't take 18 days to transfer my case. looking at the timelines of other individuals whose cases were transfered to new delhi the average time was 6 days. lets see.......

I believe the K-1s transfer the fastest from the NVC because there is the least amount of work to do for the NVC - all of it is handled at the Embassy.

the thing is that nvc says they have already forwarded the case on august 31st. they only kept it one day after receiving it. i am sure the paperwork is at delhi..its just not entered into their system. by the way does anyone know.. how do they transfer the paperwork? is it postal? electronic?

bszoom42 I wish I had done the K-1 for my husband. I have known many people who got married and filed the K-1 and did AOS after showing marriage here. with K-3 you still have to do the AOS but its slower than K-1.

Umm... careful what you wish for...

Anyway, K-1's for husbands are a bad bad idea. K-1's for fiancee is good. Besides, you have alredy filed, you are nearing the home stretch, just relax and try to be patient
