Hi everybody!!
I had my interview yesterday in Madrid (Spain), so I thought about posting my experience there, here it goes:
We (my USC husband and me) arrived in Madrid on Sunday. I had my medical check on monday morning which it took about 3 hours because the X-ray had to be done somewhere else. Since I did not have any records for vaccinations they gave me two vaccines: tetanus (I am not sure of the spelling) and the triple-vir that includes mumps, measles and rubeola (all together in one). That went well and on-schedule, even the lady at the medical told me that this process is more burocracy for the embassy than a real medical check. The next day I picked up the results. And, finally, yesterday I had my interview at the embassy. I was schedule for 9 am, but had to wait about half-an-hour. The lady (the same one she had talked to us at the time of the I-130 application) took all our documents required in packet 4. We had only one problem: apparently my pictures were too small, I blame the spanish photo-machines, they claim to be for ID but apparently they do not meet the requirements, avoid them if you can! Anyway, fortunately, they had a photo-machine at the embassy, so I took them there, no problem. Then we waited for almost 1 hour and a half to get the final interview; the embassy was busy. At the interview, he asked me when I had met my husband, what did I do during my 3 years of J-1 visa in the US (that was from 2000 to 2003, he was curious about that one), where I was going in the US and not many questions more after all, took less than 10 minutes in total. And finally he said the phamous words "your visa has been approved"!!! I could not believe it first. He told me I should get my passport in the mail in about 1 week, I will anxiously wait for it!! I do not plan to enter the US till November, so I will keep you posted about my next experience at the POE then.
I sincerely want to thank all the people that help me answering my concerns and questions during my visa journey, and of course, all the ones that make possible such a great site like this one. You guys do a terrific and great job and should be proud of it. This is the best forum site I have ever visited and I enjoyed it a lot, it is amazing how much information you can get from it. Thanks a lot!!!!
