Mr and Mrs Bird
Hi all

My EAD is sent to a wrong place July 24.
According to USPS it was delivered August 9.

My lawyer is a big jerk and he want's us to wait until we hear from USCIS.
He says that we can hope that they will transfer our application to the correct place.

But isn't there anything we can do instead of waiting for them to open the envelope and realize our mistake.

I can read that if I mailed my application more than 30 days ago we can contact customer service.
Does that means from July 24 or from August 9?

Whould it help if we are setting up a meeting with Infopass?

Well you can always stop payment on check and resubmit. The first one will just be denied....?????

I would Fire your lawyer and make an infopass appointment and get them to check if your EAD application has been forwarded to the correct office or if it is to be returned to you... if it is to be returned then you could send out a new application to the correct place and just destroy the old one when it comes back...

Can anybody tell us what good experience you may have with Infopass about this kind of problem. We mentioned this to our lawyer, but he ment that we couldn't since they will ask for our reciept number which we don't have yet.

It's just so whe know what to do if fighting agains our lawyer. good.gif

If it was our case, we would wait for the NOA to go to infopass (many people are starting to receive theirs now). There is something really wrong with your lawyer.

We don't know what is wrong with him, because he always says that he will ofcause pay for the mistake. So he is not trying to rub us like many people is telling us. On top of this he has his own office. So we don't understand his none experience. sad.gif

I am not saying he is trying to "rub" you, he simply sounds incompetent. 2 errors on an EAD filing? Paying to refile does not help when you are waiting extra time to be authorized to work. He is costing you money more than just filing fees.

Back to my original suggestion of waiting until NOA is received to go to infopass (that is if your lawyer will give you a copy or isnt on a vacation when it is received).

We are loosing money on him.

Perhaps they will just forward your paperwork to the correct office. I don't see why they would deny you because it was sent to the wrong office.
