Now, i've read many times that Vancouver is so much faster to get that lovely interview. I searched the timelines and it looks like in the past it's been about a month from sending in your packet 3. I guess I am just wondering if this is something I can still expect. I want to get excited since Vancouver mailed me the packet 3 yesterda, but I am trying not to jump the gun too much in thinking that I may be able to move home by American Thanksgiving?!?

Congrats on Packet 3.... FAX IT OFF ASAP! Then email them the next day just asking if they got the fax okay and if a date had been scheduled. smile.gif

And from the looks of it, it's still about 1 month from receiving packet 3. There were 2 people who sent back packet 3 this month and their interview is in September.

Also when I sent my P3 back, I asked for "earliest date available appointment after <date>". If you can get to Vancouver on short notice you may wish to just write "earliest available appointment". Stacey33 got her interview in 9 days that way.

I think there's a very good chance you'll be able to get there before November!

Well count me in on Vancouver, I am goin to see my kids in Alberta and to work for awhile till we can get this process done SOOOO we are having our lawyer make the arrangements to have our papers transferred to Vancouver instead of them goin to MTL after we get our approval so I am very happy,,and I really lookin forward to seeing all 5 of my kids!!! kicking.gif

If I had known when we filed what I know now, I would have filed for the K visa instead of the IR1

Thanks for all your advice. I think I will allow myself to get excited now. oh boy! Now we get to begin to wrap our brains around moving. Thankfully the housing market is going very well right now in our town. We have just recently set up our Royal Bank accounts and are waiting for the Centura bank to contact us. My husband's medical is in Calgary for the 7th. I'll have to call to see how long it takes to get the results in our hands. i guess once we have the medical results we are available to go for the interview. I see West jet is having a seat sale right now. Too bad I don't know the interview date yet. oh well. smile.gif I have nothing to complain about when I think of the torturous wait the MTL people are going through. Thanks again for the encouragement and posts. I am rambling now... must calm down and go to bed!

To add to that, both of us sent in our checklists around Aug. 9, asked for an interview date in the last week of August, and got Sept. 12 for our interview date = just over a month.

But I know how you feel. When our I-129F was going through Nebraska -> California, people who sent theirs to Vermont well after we sent ours in were approved while we were still waiting. You win some, you lose some. But in the end, we all get our life partner. heart.gif

But now you avoid having to do AOS! And since you're IR1, all you have to do is... nothing after you get it smile.gif

(unless you want to file for citizenship in 3 years).
