I have been married for almost 2 years now, I applied and got the green card through my American born wife, since I had status(TPS) I did not apply for residency immediately, we just got confirmation of approval for permanent residence last week. My question is as follows, since we will be married for 3 years way before I can apply to lift the conditions on my green card, Could I just apply for citizenship whitout waiting to lift the conditions on my green card? Thanks in advance, M & J
You can not apply for Citizenship until 90 days before the 3rd anniversary of you getting your greencard...not your 3rd wedding anniversary...... if you got your greencard and it was valid for 2 years (conditional) then you need to file to remove the conditions this
can must be done during the 90 day window before the card expires....
