I have been married for almost 2 years now, I applied and got the green card through my American born wife, since I had status(TPS) I did not apply for residency immediately, we just got confirmation of approval for permanent residence last week. My question is as follows, since we will be married for 3 years way before I can apply to lift the conditions on my green card, Could I just apply for citizenship whitout waiting to lift the conditions on my green card? Thanks in advance, M & J

You can not apply for Citizenship until 90 days before the 3rd anniversary of you getting your greencard...not your 3rd wedding anniversary...... if you got your greencard and it was valid for 2 years (conditional) then you need to file to remove the conditions this can be done during the 90 day window before the card expires....

If you have a conditional green card, then you must remove the conditions which I think is 2 years after recieving it. If you had been married to your USC spouse for 3 years, then moved to the US you would have then been given a 10 year GC and not the conditional one. However when you applied you had not been married long enough so they gave you the conditional one. You now must remove those conditions...
