Hi all;

I was wondering if any one has used Peace Bridge lately as their POE? What is/was the experience like... I am thinking of being there quite early as it is the long weekend....

Also, wanted to make sure that i have not missed out on my checklist: helpsmilie.gif

- Passport
- Sealed envelop from MTL consulate
- Car certification/compliance letter
- Some US$ Cash (for import duty on car, etc)
- List of items that i will be carrying (with serial numbers for electronics, and their receipts where available)
- My belongings!

What I need to ask at POE is [may be] the EAD stamp.

Any items missed??

Thx for all your help[s]! ClockWatch2.gif

I didn't go through recently but back in March. I don't think you'll get the EAD stamp there but it never hurts to ask!

Looks like you're pretty set though!

We went through in May. I wrote up my experience around here somewhere. They did not give us the EAD stamp.

Here's a link to my crossing in February. It was a breeze. My wife didn't ask for a copy of the medical, which I regret because of the RFE we had for one.

Oh yeah, I'm a K3 but my experience is linked in my signature.

He came over in July and they did not give EAD stamp. They also didn't ask for a list of the contents of his car or a car certification letter -- which is good, because I don't think he had either.

Good luck. smile.gif

  • If you're going on the long weekend, make sure you get there REALLY early.
  • Unless your car was purchased within the last year and/or it was manufactured overseas, there is no import duty. You will need $6 usd for the I-94.
  • You will be asked for the value of your car in customs. Give them a low estimate in case you have to pay state tax when you register it. You will need to show them your ownership, so don't forget to bring that in.
  • Unless you already have one, ask for a photocopy of the DS-3025 vaccination worksheet when they open your sealed envelope. You will need this for the Adjustment of Status application.
  • Stop at the duty free for some great Australian wine (Mirrool Creek). You won't be able to get it anywhere else.
Congratulations, and all the best. Have a safe trip!
