There are so many different kind of cars - and I didn't want to leave any out - so I left this poll open. My husband just bought a new car and so I was curious to find out what kind of car you/your SO drive?

We have a CR-V and a Nissan Versa. Both are mine......he isn't driving yet. He hates both my cars and 'thinks' we need to get him a car that he likes so he can learn to drive in it.

We have a 2004 Honda Civic and a 2006 Subaru Forester that we use for primary transportation. I also have my old 1997 Jeep Cherokee SE (not the Grand Cherokee) that I bought new and now has 192,000 miles on it. I keep it around because it was almost worthless as a trade-in and the low book value is not enough to pursuade me to sell it. It stays parked most of the time, but I still use it on occasion. It is tough as a tank and refuses to die. It runs like a top! As they say...cheaper to keep her.

My fiancee doesn't drive...she will be learning eventually when she comes here though. I just bought a 2008 Toyota Corolla LE. It's already got it's first paint dings from gravel.

None right now. My car just crapped out this weekend. Bad O2 sensor and clogged CC. Double trouble! Not even worth the fix, so I am carless atm.

2004 Saturn Ion Quad Coupe w/ continuously variable transmission (CVT). I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. Not even the same model but different year.
We share 1 car.

I just totaled my '95 Accord and have to get something new.

I've heard good things about the Elantra as a used car. How do you like your Hyundai?

All our cars are old. Our newest vehicle is a 1996 Ford Windstar Mini van which we bought for $1700

. Just a couple of days ago I helped hubby replace the front brakes (discs and pads). Hubby also replaced an O2 sensor on the van while I watched.
Hubby alternates using his 1979 Ford Ranchero and 1969 Pontiac Le Mans convertible.
Having old cars (and all paid in cash) can't be beat in terms of (low) cost of insurance and no monthly car payments.

I echo eau_xplain - love my older, dented 1992 Honda Accord with nearly 200,000 miles on it (first and only car I've ever owned in my life)! No monthly car payments and low insurance can't be beat! (Not to mention not much fear of it being stolen...

)
My hubby can't drive yet. He says once he gets his license, he wants my old car and wants to get me a brand new one. I said NO THANKS it's MINE until it conks out!

I bought a used Hyundai Elantra last year - it's not bad but I've noticed the handling is not nearly as responsive as any of the Corollas I've previously owned and I'm only getting about 27 mpg (my last Corolla was about 34 mpg). Comparitivitely speaking in terms of size, mpg, price and reliability, the Corolla is the better choice, IMO.

Thanks for the input. I'm so torn about what to do. I don't know if it'd be a good idea to get a 2007 model at this time since they'll be trying to make room for the 2008's. I've been comparing mostly the Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic, Nissan Versa, and Toyota Yaris. Not sure about the Corolla, something about it is just so boring (and yes, I know that the other cars I listed are pretty darn boring too

). K, back to mototrend and cars.com.....

I drive a 2005 Nissan Sentra SE and I'm very happy with it. It has never given me any problems and the gas mileage is great. (We spent about $94 driving each way from FL to NY and back).
My husband just bought a 2007 Honda Civic LX and loves it. The gas mileage is even better (30-40) and we were told Hondas are reliable cars.
We both plan on keeping these babies for awhile....

96 Honda Civic hatchback, still in good condition. When I got it in 2002 it only had 17,000 miles on it. An elderly lady owned it, and hardly drove it, and passed away. It was given to my family, and my dad gave it to me. It's great gas mileage for Sujeet's commute to work. We'll need to buy a 2nd car after the baby is born.
