We sent more than enough, or so I thought. Even a signed affidavit from my mother-in-law who is an attorney! Joint bank account statements covering several months, tax papers with both our names, joint medical insurance, even some mail addressed to us both. The RFE letter asks for stuff we either already sent or can't really send because of our (then) living arrangements. For example, we were living with my wife's parents at the time so we had no utility bills in our name or lease/property paperwork - but we explained all that in the cover letter wacko.gif

Now we are living in our own rented place, so at least we can send a copy of the rental agreement and some utility bills. We also opened another joint bank account together and have some vet bills and dental bills to throw into the mix as well. I hope that is enough to satisfy them!

I don't know what we would do if we were still living with my wife's parents - we gave them everything we could think of blink.gif

It's just so frustrating when we've gone through all this by the book, in 100% good faith, only to be treated like we're somehow suspicious....when there's people......well, you know mad.gif

Is good that now you have a lease and bills, I have read here cases when the card is ordered a few days after RFE is sent.
good luck.

May be they want photos? of you together and you two with family and coworkers?

We sent photos already. I really think it was the lack of paperwork showing that we lived together - that shouldn't be a problem now...I hope blush.gif

Thanks!

as i wrote here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=1149744

We also got RFE last week mentioning rent agreement

we live with my husband's grandma and she owns the house,

1) would it help if she signed a notarised letter stating that we lived with her, paid part of bills and took care of her (she is 80 y o and otherwise would have nobody to do house errands for her)?
2) none of utility bills are on our names (except cellphones), but some payments were made by our checks, would it make sense to send copies of such cleared checks from our bank's website?
3) would it be a proof of residence if we sent copies of credit card statements for joint cards showing same billing address?

My husband and I lived with my parents for about five months, so eventhough we have a lease now I am going to have my parents write a letter stating we lived with them for that time, and have it notarized to send with our I-751. All you can do is explain your situation, and send the supporting documents that you have.

Best of luck for a speedy approval after they receive the RFE.

Sorry to hear about the RFE, that is so frustrating.

In addition to your new lease, could you send copies of bills, drivers' licenses, etc. in each of your names that show you are at the same address?
