Hi everyone,

I'm sitting with my co-sponsor right now filling out things, and wouldn't you know it...I'm doubting myself again...

star_smile.gif My husband's co-sponsor's last year income was $16,100 before deductions. The minimum requirement is 16,500 for 2. (co-sponsor and my husband) We're short $400.00, I'm thinking, no problem we will need 5 times the diffrence in cash value. RIGHT!

I'm doubting myself because...oh gosh you guys, I'm just doubting myself again...sheesh...

Yes, assets can be used to reach the requirement.

BUT, in my case, the co-sponsors assets will not be used to make up the diffrence, MY assets will be used to make up the diffrence,I am the primary sponsor.

And that will be perfectly fine. Correct?

I am absolutely not sure on this one, as it is a tricky question (at least for me)....

But I think each sponsor has to meet the minimum poverty line....

Hope somebody else can shed a bit more light on this....

Sorry breezy, I agree with anytaholland. Sponsors can not combine their income/assets with each other to meet the requirements.
Yoiur Joint Sponsor's I-864 need to be enough for his size household plus the immigrant.

Check the 3 I-864 FAQs that are linked in the DCF Guide. PM me if there are any broken links!

thanks you two. i just need to regroup. i thought i had this all figured out. ive been working on i-134 and i-184 for an entire day now. I'm getting too far ahead of myself. Problems started when Rome sent me forms and no instructions, so I downloaded I-864 from uscis.gov. and it says that the sponsor may combine income with the assets of the immigrant not the other sponsor. Which would be fine. I'm starting over. The forms aren't even that difficult. So I've got somewhree at least.

By the way, Still havent filed the I-130...I'm getting too far ahead of myself. blink.gif wink.gif

Thanks for always being good to me everyone, breezy
