Sent N400 on July 25 th.
Received notice from Nebraska on November 1 stating I owed more in fees.
A week later I sent a letter with copy of post office receipt showing that my package was post marked before the July 30th deadline
Towards the end of November i received a letter back stating I didn't owe additional fees and within a short time would receive notice for fingerprinting.
To date...nothing further received.

Biometrics done earlier today in Baltimore! kicking.gif The place was packed though, had 20 people ahead of me, so it took over an hour and a half but it was a breeze afterall. They gave me the book with the CD with the civic lessons about the US to prepare fore the interview. Now back to waiting. wacko.gif

My wife did her biometrics in Baltimore yesterday as well, got there over an hour early and was in and out fairly quickly. Someone told her that they were trying to get the interviews/oaths done as soon as they can so that the new citizens can vote in the Primaries. That means pretty quick, because the Maryland Primaries are February 12th. Study Hard, interview may be sooner than you think!

So much for Baltimore trying to speed things up...Today's the last day to register to vote for the primaries in MD...so that means they are definitely out of question for me since I didn't hear a sound from Baltimore... Not that it came as a shock anyway... wacko.gif

Man I wish this thread was more alive with more news to report... crying.gif

i think time of interview depends first on service center and then mainly on Local office, so you should only worry if people who filed after you and get interviews at your Field office before you https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of....office_type=LO

once you know your local offfice you can check what are they processing here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp

Dear July filers, please post your news, it would help all of waiting people, thank you!

I know that, I didn't mean there is a problem with my case (there isn't, actually my noa states 180 days as notification period so it is much better than most), I was specifically referring to some people who sent their application months after july to VSC (like many of us) and already have interviews scheduled at their distric office (no it doesn't happen to be mine). I stumbled upon a couple of timelines both on here and elsewhere and yes, It still pisses me off, regardless or not it is a problem at the service center or the district office. I am just venting.

ETA: I don't think july filers aren't posting because of lazyness..this thread is dead simply because there is no freaking news for anyone wacko.gif appearently....
annatenna
I've seen one or two July filers (elsewhere) posting that they have received interview notice. One was a TSC filer via San Antonio office who sent their N400 6 days before I did, and seems to have just missed the big bulge that occurred at the end of July. Their NOA had stated "notification withn 90 days" - which is a lot shorter than my own "365 days." Another was a VSC filer. Interview appointments are for February and March.

The only optimistic thing I can think of to say is that we July filers have to be at the front of the line of all the folks waiting now. It's just that there are so many of us.

N400 to TSC 26 July 2007
Cheque cashed 19 Nov 2007
NOA 26 Nov 2007 ("365 days")
Finger prints(1) 17 Dec 2007(Oklahoma City)
Fingerprint re-take 22 Jan 2008

Thank you Verika..I don't understand it either...I think they might be processing N-400 applications of people who also have a pending I-751 first, but I'm not sure...oh well hopefully someone will post news in here soon whistling.gif

I'm still waiting here just to get notification about fingerprinting. My application was sent in on July 25th to Nebraska. They claimed at the beginning of November that I owed more in fees which I didn't because my paperwork was received at their office on July 30th. I had the receipt showing paperwork sent July 25th. I then get a notice later in November that I don't owe the additional fees and I should hear soon about fingerprinting. This is so typical for me though. Ever since getting AOS interview in December 2002, there is always one problem or another and it's not me that has caused it. I've done everything I'm supposed to do.

I just hope citizenship is completed before my son turns 18 in January 2009. mad.gif

They didnt ask me anything. All i had to do was bring in my greencard and a sheet they gave me and checked off if there was any changes since my interview such as marriage, name change or travel out the country and provide proof. I signed my certificate then we had the ceremony which lasted about 40 minutes and they handed out the certificates to the 32 of us who were getting naturalized. Then they told us it was over and we all signed up to vote if we chose then we went home.

Hey, everyone.

I have been pretty much lurking here.....not really having anything to add on top of the other posts until now....We were actually a part of the original "faq" back in 1998-1999. I was glad to see it was still going strong!

My husband came over on a fiance visa in Nov 1999, we were married in Jan 2000. We have gone through all of the immigration process but wasn't really in a big hurry to complete his citizenship until we heard of the fee changes. So here we are...in the pool with everyone else that filed in July! blush.gif

We went to the Wichita, KS office on Dec 3rd for fingerprints and have been waiting *patiently* (HA!) for his notice of interview. Well, it came today, scheduled for April 15th. Unfortunately, it was also accompanied by another letter that stated the following:

"This is to advise you that, due to unforseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview on Tuesday, April 15th for the above applicant. WE regret any inconvenience this may cause.

We will advise you of any further action taken on this case, including any rescheduled interview information, under separate notice."

I tried to call in to see if there was a better reason given and got stuck in the automated system, with the "most recent" update being that they entered our information in October.

Has anyone else received a letter like this? It was really disheartening!

Hello and welcome! star_smile.gif

I didn't receive a letter like this so unfortunately I cannot help you unsure.gif I hope they will send you another letter soon, THE ONE WITH THE ACTUAL DATE THIS TIME, if not I would schedule an Infopass appointment to go and discuss wtf they're doing with your case by sending a letter like that!!! helpsmilie.gif

Also I am pissed beyond belief although I know I shouldn't be and just be happy for the others... girlwerewolf2xn.gif I cannot believe there is an entire thread of november filers who already have their interviews scheduled...WTF!!!! mad.gif
annatenna
kshoney - I think Churipu's advice is wise - I'd schedule an Infopass appointment asap!

Churipu - Me too - pissed that is. I'm glad for anybody who gets through the USCIS obstacle course quickly, of course, but it doesn't stop us from feeling bad when there's such a BIG discrepancy in processing times.

You and I and the other July folk ought to be getting interview notices within the next month to 6 weeks - if there's any justice (??)

Hi all,

I finally got my naturalization interview notice today 02/19. I'm going on 04/18/08 at Philadelphia. My priority date was July 11, 2007. I believed you guys will get it too soon.

I have questions:

1.) My passport expired last year. I've never been out of the US since I came in here in 2003. Do I need to renew it for the interview?
2.) In the letter I got one of the requirement is to bring "Photo Identification", this means the drivers license or the picture (2x2)? I submitted 2x2 picture in my application.
3) Is photocopies of Form 1040 our accountant gave us will be okey or do I really need to order from IRS -Form 1722 for our tax?

Thanks.

My interview is April also.

Well, you don't have to renew your passport, I'm sure you'll be okay.

Photo Identification it would be your Green Card, passport, and State ID.

Photocopies of Form 1040 will be okay.

For my interview I'm going to take the same documents. (original and photocopy)

180 days added to your NOA date Nov 9 = Friday, May 7, 2008 so they are still within given timeframe. After 180 days since issuance date on NOA1 - i'd recommend to make infopass on that date, and if Officer doesn't tell you that you are in line for interview, you can start complaining and possibly file case against USCIS and FBI if still pending

I am not worried about it, I mean...in the end my NOA indicates a notification day period significantly shorter than most, it must count for something. As you said, and I had already thought about it, I will wait for the deadline and if nothing happens by then I will go and inquire about it. I am just amazed, because Baltimore just so happened to be one of the super speedy offices...never had a problem with them and always was able to complete no matter what in no time...I guess I'm spoiled. tongue.gif
