Hello! This is my first post, i hope i am clear enough to be understood.
I sent in my I-130 packet to the CSC on july 27, 2007. As of yet, i have not recieved a my NOA 1, and they havent even cashed the check i sent! USPS listed the package as being recieved on july 30!.

1. Why is my i-130 noa1 taking so long? Has this ever happened before?

Anyways... my main question is this:

My wife (in Guangzhou, china) wants to change her job. She has had a good job for 3 years as a TV commercial producer, getting paid fairly well. Now, she is sick of it, and wants to get a new job ASAP. The problem is that she thinks it might affect her future visa approval.

2. Does her job play a role in her being accepted into the USA at all?

For the K3 route? the CR1 route?

my Final question is about my own career. I am a student. This is my last semester in school, and then i'll graduate. Right now, i don't have a job, and i planned on going to china to live with her untill she is allowed to live in the USA (either cr1 or k3 route). At any rate... I'm broke... so Im sure this will impact my future I-864 form. I thought about using my mom (good ol' parents to the rescue~) as a reference.

3. Does any one have any comments or suggestions about this?

It seems that your NOA1 is taking a long time due to the high volume of petitions they would have received at that time with so many people trying to avoid the fee increase. I wouldn't worry yet, but I believe someone can suggest a way you may be able to check on it.

As for your wife's job, that does not matter for the visa process.

As you will not have sufficient income, your mom can be the joint sponsor for your wife. You will still be the main sponsor and fill out the I-864 as the sponsor. Your mom would fill out a second I-864 as the joint sponsor if you do not live together and you are not her dependant. If you live together at the time of sending the I-864 (but it sounds like you'll be in China) then she would be a household member and fill out a I-864A.

All that said, you might find it easier to say that you do live with your mom and consider your time in China just a holiday. Then you would continue using your mom's address for everything and she would be a household member instead of a joint sponsor.

answer 1 - Yes the cali service centre is ntop cashing the checks i dont know why.... i am stuck in similar stage like u buddy... my usps delivered 380 $ fee on aug 3 .. and its aug 22 and they havent yet encashed it. Dont know why

Your wifes Job doesnt matter in all this...... ALL matters is from your side because you will be the petitioner..

depends on you buddy ... and yes ur parents can be the co sponsor.... but if u take my viewpoint... i would tell u rather go for a JOB in USA .... you become the petitoner of ur fiance/wife and call her on any of the K visa.( beause u wont be able to wait for her too long for the IR \Cr case)....

I don't understand what you're saying in Answer 3. He is the petitioner no matter what, and if he goes to visit her in China, waiting for a CR1/IR1 visa wouldn't be very hard.

I waited almost a full month before I got my NOA1, and I never even actually got a paper copy of it!! I finally had to call USCIS and talk to someone. He reassured me that my case was in good standing, but it's just taking longer than I'd like.

The beneficiary's work has nothing to do with any of the visa process. It does not matter if your fiancée is a CEO or a simple homemaker.
