We're in the process of completing form DS-230. Using Acrobat, we were unable to type "present" for question that requires length of time. An error box stating error date format pop up. What gives? Thanks in advance.

There are some limitations to the forms (i.e., being able to complete certain 'boxes' with dates, or extended text, etc) so the best we can do, is complete what we can, then print out the form and neatly write in what would not/could not fit. There are ways around it, but this is the most stress-free method.

I did used a handwritten in that selection.

Then put the length of time in or as suggested print out the form and write in what you deem appropriate.
