There's a lot of talk of Montreal taking a long time. But I am wondering if this is for K-1 only? Any statistics for K-3 appointments?

Same statistics for K1 and K3 at Montreal unfortunately... I think they're at about 6 months waiting time right now.

This just kills me. What do you have to do to "move" to Vancouver? I have some friends there, so I wonder if I can tell USCIS that she lives in Vancouver now. Or do I need some proof?

You can try and change her address with USCIS now but it might still go to the NVC with her Toronto address in which case it would end up at Montreal. If that happens, contact Vancouver AND Montreal and tell them that she "lives out west" now...

They don't need proof, just an address really and a reason ("living out west now" is a reason).

And Vancouver time is 1-2 months, right?

From receipt of checklist to actual interview, about 1 month.

Thanks! Both of us would die if we had to wait another 6 months.

Misa, how did you get your K-3 sooo fast? Two months! Wow!
misa

All the other consulates deal with other visas like tourist visas and stuff like that. It would be nice if they all dealt with K visa and CR-1/IR-1 visas too!
My K3 took 4 months in total. I filed through VSC which is historically faster than CSC and then I got my case transferred to Vancouver. I know I'm extremely lucky to have received it so quickly!

I envy you

Do you know how I let them know that address changed? Is there a special form for that?
misa

I don't know actually. We never had to change the address for the beneficiary at that stage before. Maybe ask in the K3 forum or wait until it is approved and try to change it at the NVC before it gets sent out to the consulate.

if i came across VJ and saw how much faster VAN was,I would ensure I found family in the Western provinces to ensure I got my interview in VAN (for K1 or K3)

I have been in the Toronto Consulate. They handle everything involved with passports. From A-Z, there were LOTS of people in there with problems when I was there.

WOW! Gratz! PLEASE-PLEASE keep us updated about how it goes! Like what/if they ask at the interview about your "move" and such. Very good info, thanks!
