Has anyone tried e-filing for EAD? What is the advantage of filing it this way? Will they be able to process it quicker?
Thanks.

Kez/JWolf
No advantage what so ever in fact you still have to mail in the supporting documents... so no benefit and lots of disadvantages... like your e-filed form and the supporting doc never get put together... or one or both get lost..

We eFiled for our EAD.
Our timeline, so far, seems quicker, based on timeline information here.
We've only got through our Biometrics at this point.

However, I am now worried about "supporting documents."
Is there something I'm supposed to send???

Patrick808: Your timeline looks exactly the same as most others I have seen here to me. You might have a point if you get your EAD before the 90 day mark, we'll see about that.

Your timeline shows you applied for EAD but did you file for AOS as well? if not your EAD will only be valid for the same time as your I-94 (90 days) so by the time you get it it will have expired..... if you did file for AOS then you would need to mail a copy of the NOA1 for the AOS as instructed when you did the e-file...

Kez,

If you have filed for AOS, there is not supporting documents for EAD. Whereas there are supporting documents for AP.

The major difference is that they can not lose your money and you will get a receipt number right away.

If you are filing for EAD after you have filed for AOS then yes there is supporting evidence....

You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485.

I only remember sending in the supporting documents for AP. For EAD we just filled in the information online and got a receipt number, nothing posted nothing further sent, just all electronically entered and approved via the internet-only application.

Hope that helps

That may be what it says, but as Annie said, when e-filing for EAD after you have already filed for AOS you use your receipt number as part of the application process, you do not need to mail in any additional evidence.

What supporting documents? Did you e-file your EAD application and have personal experience with this or are you just posting what you assume is to be correct without really knowing?
